Possibility of STD and treatment

14 days ago I took a stripper home.  We kissed and I preformed oral on her.  Using a condom on me the entire time, she performed oral and intercourse.  After 45-60 min without ejaculating, she straddled my thighs pulled off the condom and gave me a handjob to completion.  There was no oral or vaginal contact that I am aware of though her vagina was very close to my penis during this act.  I doubt that I could catch anything but 24 hours later felt like a constant but very mild burning sensation indside my penis.  It does not hurt when I urinate but it is a constant feeling that has been going on for 10-12 days.  PLEASE NOTE: 48 hours after the experience I to0k 1Gram of Zithromax followed by 0.5 Grams 24 hours later, Followed by 0.5 gram 48 hours later, followed by another 0.5 grams 48 hours after that.  This is a total of 2.5 grams over five days.  This is probaby a psycho symatic symptom due to fear and nerves.  I am wondering a) what are the chances of contracting something, b) what are the chances that the aboves doses would have erraticated anything with the incubation time of only 48 hours may not have been long enough.  Please let me know your thought and sorry for the length of this post.

Even though you took the azithromycin over five days, the drug remains in the body for up to 10 days.  IF (and I doubt your di) you had gonorrhea it would have been cured by the azithromycin you took.

I thnk that anxiety may indeed be contributing to your symptoms.  sometimes when we become anxious it makes us aware of sensations which have always been present but were ignored or not previously concerning.

Hope this helps.  EWH

Thank you for the reassurance.  My two concerns were
- the 2.5grams was taken over five days rather than a single dose.
- Taking it within 48 hours of the initial act might not have been enough time to catch it to then treat it. (does that make any sense)

Again thank you for your reassurance.  Do you feel that it is then psycho symatic?  There are no exterior marks or rash; what else could it be?  Can I stop worrying now?

Your exposure was very low risk.  With condom protected (oral and vaginal) sex, you are not at risk for urethral (penile) infection which would explain your current mild burning sensation.  Furthermore, had you contracted infection, it is most likely that you would have acquired either gonorrhea, chlamydia or NGU and the amount of azithromycin you took should be curative for each of these.  Thus, to summarize your situation:

1.  This was a no risk exposure.  It was condom protected.  STDs are not spread through masturbation
2.  Even in the off chance that you were infected, the amount of azithromycin you took 2.5g) is more than what is recommended for therapy for chlamydia, NGU and gonorrhea (2.0 grams is recommended for gonorrhea although it is usual to take it at one time rather than over several days).  Nonetheless, it would have been expected to have cured any penile infection which might have been present.
