Possible STD infections - very anxious and concerned

Dear Doctors,
Thank you for taking my email and time to respond to my ‘issue’ regarding possible contractions of STD.  My issue is really regarding my extreme anxiety at the possibility of contracted a number of STD’s namely Gonnerah / Chlamydia .Here’s the story, I think that some of the facts may be interlinked to my current symptom of possible Gonnerah.
1. 3 weeks ago I visited a very reputable sauna in the UK . I received protected oral and had about 2 mins of protected intercourse. condom was intact. The girl always has protected sex; I know that this sauna insists on this and regular testing.
2. After the event I was prescribed antidepressants, Citralopalm, due to ongoing anxiety issues. The tablets give slightly swollen testicles, very hard erections (in the morning) and I have issues ejaculating, it’s a real strain .
3. I also fell one day and badly bruised by bottom and I think strained my groin.

About 10 days ago I was trying to masturbate, it felt like I climaxed but produced no semen. Went to bed, woke up in the morning with very hard erection and had a bit of white discharge from my tip of the penis. I panicked as I think this is Gonnerah. I stopped Citralopalm 7 days ago, but I got  smelly urine for a few days .Did not have any discharge since that 1 event.  I have a dull ache in the Perineum region and in my inner thigh when I sit down or lie on my left side -due to the fall 2 or so weeks ago ?, but I think it is Gonnerah spreading to my blood. It hurts when I press into the left side of my perineum.
I also had a sore throat, but so has my wife as she has a cold coming on ..We have not had sex since my sauna visit..I really do not know what to think. I used protection but it’s just my luck that I get a bad condom. Please can you advise, I am very scared of losing my marriage over this...I am seeing a psychologist because I suffer from anxiety issues generally but I believe this to be real infection due to that discharge.
Many Thanks

Welcome to our Forum.  My sense is that you are over reacting.  The risk of getting an STD from receipt of oral sex is very low and when condoms are use, as is your case, the risk is essentially zero. In addition, you have alternative explanations for your symptoms including the use of citralopam which is known to cause problems with both erection and ejaculation.

I would urge you not to worry however, knowing that you are anxious over this, you should go and see a health care provider, preferably someone such as in an STD/GUM clinic who can look at a specimen from your penis under a microscope so that you can get rapid proof that you are not infected.

You certainly do not need treatment at this time. EWH

Yes, I think it would be safe to resume unprotected sexual activity with your wife.  EWH

Dear Doctor,

Thank you very much for the response. I guess you are right in that I am worrying too much. I am seeing a professional in regard to my anxiety, I recently had a family bereavement (child) and have issues at work , so I know that I am focusing in on this incorrectly. I desperatly want to get 'back into the saddle' with my wife in regard to love making, can I feel confident to resume this ?.
Again, appreciate your comments and good work with the forum..This will be my last post..regards
