I've had on and off urinary symptoms throughout the summer, all seeming to stem from an incident where I noticed blood in my urine upon returning from a run.
Symptoms are as follows:
-Urinary urgency
-Intermittent urinary frequency
-Irritation in urethra or penile pain
-Perineum discomfort and pain
-Sometimes have trouble urinating
I've been to the doctors three times about it ending in multiple courses of antibiotics and then being referred to a urologist.
The urologist put my on six weeks of Doxycycline 100mg once a day as he thought it could be a prostate infection or some type of infection they weren't catching, plus I had little to no symptoms while on the antibiotics.
Once coming off the Doxy I was still having frequency issues, so my urologist ran some more tests and found that my bladder was not completely emptying and scheduled me for cystoscopy as he feels there is either a blockage or stricture in the urinary tract.
I'm still having on and off urethral pain and it feels sometimes that it could be an STD(I had chlamydia back a year ago due to condom breakage, I was treated for it though)
Is it possible there is an underlying std that is not being picked up here? I've had a urine test every time I've visited my urologist, but almost every-time I've been tested I was either on or coming off antibiotics.
I did have a swab done after my last partner, they said they would call if there were any infection(s); they never called meaning nothing was found.
I don't have a discharge and like I said the pain is very intermittent.
Thanks doctor!
