Problem with the penis

Hello Doctors
I got a Herpes Select Test back with results reading HSV Type 1 -  (.07)  HSV Type 2 - (.11)  From reading all of the Dr's responses to questions I am going to quit worrying about Herpes.  This test was taken like a year and a half after my penis started hurting.  It took that long to work up the courage to tell the doctor about it.  However, my foreskin hurts cronically.  This has been going on for like 3 years now.  It becomes red and inflammed after masterbation or sex.  Sex in particular. I can feel it everyday thruout the day.  My urologist says that my penis looks normal everytime I go to him (3 times)and he does not know what is wrong.  I went to the dermotologist before the urologist and he prescribed a cream called Mometasone Furoate.
This seemed to ease the symptoms but did not clear anything up.  The urologist just today proscribed ellavil for me so that maybe I can have sex again, without pain but this still does not tell me what is wrong.  I am at my wits end.  Is there anything that you could reccomend or explain to me that may help.  My wife and I have got to get back to a normal sex life if that will ever be possible.  PS she has no symptoms of anything.
Thank you for your help.

You are struggling to find an answer and to be honest, while our site is (I believe) often helpful in pointing persons in the right direction for care than for direct provision of care.  For care of problems such as yours, you are really best served by the care of a health care professional who can examine you, follow you over time and take more time than we are able to do this site.  The questions you ask are really the sorts of questions that you should be asking that person.  Further, let me remind you, that while you seem to be holding on to the possibility that your problems are due to a fungal infection, there really is nothing that I am aware of to definitively indicate that this is the case.

there are medications that are stronger than creams for treatment of fungal infections.  They also have more side effects.  Please find a health care provider who you feel good about and work with them on this.  EWH

Is it possible for a yeast infection to last 3 years and if so is there a med that is more powerful than the creams that have been prescribed to me that can kill it.  I do drink much more beer than I should and my last blood work  said that diabetes is on its way if I do not change my diet.  May this have something to do with the condition?  Will this fourm let me know when I need to pay another 15 dollars.  It will be worth it to pay a few more and maybe strike a nugget of what is wrong, as I have copayed to specialist many times over the past 6 months.  Thanks for taking time to answer me.

Seems unlikely., Yeast infections are typically present and obvous most of the time and while they can make skin quite sensitive and even fragile, they should be apparent at other times as well, not just after intercourse or masturbation.  EWH

No chance of this being a yeast infection of some type? I have used lubricants ( water based). Inflammation/ pain still occurs. The urologist is calling a few people and doing a little research before my next visit however he did not sound confindent that he could provide any answers, maybe he might refer me to someone else.  The pain is not in my head.

You have been seen by several experts who have had the opportunity to examine you and who feel that there is no obvious problem.  I would believe them.  I am confident from what you say and your description that this is not a disease per se or an infection.  In some people there is a tendency to be sensitive to even minor trauma including that from masturbation or even sex if their partner is not well lubricated.  The fact that the cream the dermatologist gave you helped supports this possibility in that it is an anti-inflammatory.  perhaps liberal use of lubricants (water based) might help.

Hope this helps.  EWH
