As I said above, this isn't in the wrong forum. Since you had both STD and HIV questions, either forum is fine.
I'm not familiar with that particular brand of HIV test, but almost all commercially marketed tests are equally reliable and become positive just as quickly, including the rapid HIV tests.
There have been lots of discussions why many authorities continue to promote testing at 3 months and sometimes as late as 6 months. The lawyer-driven "cover your ***" explantion is an important one for many agencies. But indeed you can forget it now. Exposure to pre-ejaculate fluid makes no important difference.
Low dose steroids as in over-the-counter preparations don't carry significant risk of thinning the skin. That's an issue only for some (not all) potent prescription steroids, and even then it is with repeated use over a long time.
Take care.
Hello Dr
I didnt relaise this i thought i posted the message to the expert Dr's Forum for Std, my appologies if i posted in the wrong forum please forgive me.
you never said anything about the exposure to the pre *** when i was fingered ie do you still think that the Hinsti Hiv test will be concluisive at 9 weeks? and how accurate is the Hinsti approved radid test?. do you think that authorities say 12 weeks to cover themselves, so as far as your concerened im ok and i can forget about it now right?
thankyou- for the response about the wart the wart has gone but its itch in the exact area where it was i have cansten cream- i thouht this makes the skin weaker and thinner with it been a steroid cream?
many thanks Dr and appoliogies again for posting in the wrong area i just posted to the expert forum sorry
have a good day
Ryan.
You do not need further testing. Your other questions have been answered innumerable times; use the search link to look for many discussions. There is no know reason why some people take longer than ohters to seroconvert and unknown why in very rare instances it may take more than 6 weeks.
That's all for this thread. I won't have any further comments or replies.
Hi doc
i took another insti rapid test @11 weeks, neg can i be sure of this now? or do i need to take another test @12 weeks

HIV related questions should be posted in the HIV Prevention and Safe Sex forum. (See the Welcome message at the top of the page and read the Disclaimer message at the top of the forum.) But you snuck under the wire with your anal wart question!
Your negative tests are reliable. (And if this concerns the exposure you asked about in the HIV community forum a couple months ago, i.e. receiving oral sex, there was probably no risk of HIV anyway.) Even though many authorities still recommend a final test at 3 months, it rarely is necessary; your negative result at 9 weeks shows you definitely did not catch HIV and do not need additional testing. Scan the HIV forum for lots of detailed discussions about HIV testing.
Your past anal wart probably is not the cause of your anal itching. If you still had an actual wart, it might cause itching -- but a previously treated, healed area should not itch. You might have minor irritation called pruritus ani. (It's a fancy name for "itchy anus" -- but you already knew that!) Keep the area very clean and dry, and you also could try an over the counter steroid cream, like hydrocortisone. If that doesn't work, see a health care provider to be checked for yeast, other minor infections, or an anal fissure. If you have had any anal sexual exposures, an STD like gonorrhea or chlamydia could be responsible. So if in doubt, get it checked out by a doctor or clinic.
