Red spots on penis and on cubic hair area after sex

I am 36 year old male. Five days ago I had unprotected sex with a 34 year old woman; I penetrated her and also performed cunnilingus. I did not shower until the next morning and it was then that I noticed tiny red spots (not bumps) on the head of my penis and the foreskin was swollen. That same evening I noticed a number of other small red spots on the skin in the pubic hair area, above and to the left and right of the penis. None of the spots itched or had any discharge. The penis did not have any discharge either. I had no pain anywhere and did not have swelling of the scrotum.

The following morning (two days after I had sex) I was examined by a General Practitioner who claimed it was probably Chlamydia (did not think its gonorrhea) and ordered me to apply Betadine solution and Daktacort cream three times a day and to take two Orelox (100mg) a day for five days.

Today is the third day since my treament and the fifth since I had sex, and the spots on the penis have gone whilst the others around the pubic hair area are almost completely gone. However I have what look like very tiny spots on my upper and lower lip. The same doctor visited me again and said that the treatment down there was working fine and advised me to apply the Daktacort to my lips just in case.

I have had unprotected sex in the past with one of my long term girlfriends whilst on other occasions I used condoms, although I have performed cunnilingus with a number of other women.

Up until the encounter last week I never had any such problems (spots, etc) and the woman in question (the 35 year old) also claims she never had any problems and that she only felt uncomfortable in her vagina after we had sex and later felt it was like she was scratched inside.

My question is this: I have looked up chlamydia and I do NOT seem to have any of the symptoms associated with it; could it be something else? If yes, what could it be?

Thanks
Patrick

We try not to discount the observations that other health care providers can make in the course of patient evaluation.  The ability to closely examine you provides your doctor with information that you may not be aware of and that I may not hear about over the net.  Having said that, the symptoms you describe really are not typical of chlamydial infection which may be asymptomatic or may cause symptoms such as burring on urination or a discharge from the penis.

In addition, it is almost unheard of for STD signs and symptoms to appear within 24 hours of sex. the typical incubation time for most STDs is more like 3 or more days.  The rash and red spots that you describe are suggestive of some sort of local irritation, perhaps due to a soap or chemical allergy so something else but not an STD. the bumps in the pubic area suggest the same sorts of problems, as well as perhaps something like folliculitis, a non-STD inflammation of hair follicles.  The betadine is a cleansing agent and the cream you took sounds as though it contains cortisone which would be good treatment for a chemical irritation or skin condition.

If you had an STD, the antibiotics you took would have probably cleared it up.  They would also treat folliculitis. As for the red spots, read above.  It sounds as though they are going away - good news.  In the meantime, take comfort that they are not an STD.  Hope this helps. EWH

I thank you for your prompt answer! I feel lighter now!

Based on your input and my feelings I will be visiting a specialist and maybe get some tests done.

Thank you again - your service is commendable.
