Redness and Irritated Meatus

Good Morning doctors,  I just want to first off refer you to a previous post from months back.  http://www.medhelp.org/posts/STDs/Should-I-have-ANY-Concern-of-an-STD--/show/1880995#post_8738645

I am still having discomfort, there is definite redness, swelling on the meatus.  The irritation is constant and rubs on my underwear causing a very weird sensation and at times a pinching and or pain.  Usually in the morning the meatus looks somewhat normal and I feel no discomfort until after I shower and have had my underwear on for a while but after a few hours it starts to get redder and inflamed, usually the one side protrudes out exposing the interior of the urethra, when it is inflamed it looks rough and irritated and when it is not inflamed I see basically a red line on the inside edge of the one side or the urethra. I also have a discomfort when it is "packaged" to tight either with tighter pants or bending over and it squishes it which causes a pressure or heavy feeling.
I have been to a few doctors as well as a dermatologist, the first doctor treated me with Cipro for 40 days with no change thinking I had prostititus, and she saw the redness thinking it could be an irritation as well and prescribed lotriderm as well in which neither helped.  The second doctor looked at it and though maybe just a mechanical issue and will take time to improve, but prescribed doxycyclin just in case it was NSU.  The dermatologist did not even look at it when I described it he said it was urethritus/nsu and prescribed doxyclyclin for 21 days at 200mg a day.

I know i do not have Chlamydia, Ghonerea, etc. as i was tested for that, the duration rules out against herpes ?
Is this possibly genital warts or HPV ? would I be able to tell if it was warts ?  I don't think i should have been exposed to hpv with the brief contact the stripper made ?
I also on recent ejaculation experienced a sharp pain mid way to the tip during and for a short time after.

HPV is typically asymptomatic in men and not a cause of redness of the sort you descirbe, nor would it cause swelling that would come and go.

You really need to get over your concerns aobut possible STD- that is not a consideration here.  Your fixation on the possiblity is hampering your care and, I suspect, negatively impacting your life.  Please seek counseling and move away from your concerns about STD of any sort.I'll have nothing more to say as there is nothing more I can add.  EWH

Thank you for the reply, I did re read my post and I messed up the terminology.  I know I do not have Hsv, what I meant was Hpv and how it would behave or look at the meatus?

would hpv cause swelling, irritation that would come and go throughout the day or would the appearance stay the same all the time.  As I mentioned in the ,opening when I wake up it looks relatively normal but after an hour or two it starts to inflame, look rough and irritated on the inside and one side to raise up above the other.

I am just trying to understand better how hpv could behave/look on the meatus so I can put my mind at rest.

No, there is nothing here to suggest HSV or genital warts.  I repeat, you really need to give up on the idea that htis is an STD or in any way related to the encounter you described years ago.  EWH

Thank you Dr. Hook for your reply, I have two Dr.'s I use and my main family doctor referred me to a dermatoligist.  I in the mean time had to go for a work medical and that is why I have seen two different GP's.  I have been referred to a uraoligist but it takes months to get an appointment so have no idea when I can get in to see one, I will go back to the dermatoligist and ensure an examination is done after i give the Doxy a few days to prove to be not working.
For a while I though the anxiety was the source ut i have relaxed and let go, on the previous post with Dr. Handsfield the redness was just that no inflamation.  At this point it does get inflamed and as mentioned one side of the penis opening sits higher and looks red and irritated.

Do you feel that any of what I describe could be HSV warts at the tip of the urethra ?  The appearence changes such as in gets irritated ad inflamed then normal looking with only the red spot that that is clearly visable but no inflamation until i move around and irritate it.

I have made my piece with it NOT being Herpes since it has continued so long, and tests have proved the other STI's to not be the issue.  My last thought is HSV, I just want to feel normal as it is affecting my work, and my at home life. If you could provide any more insight on hsv genital warts on the tip of the meatus suchs as the appearence, if it would cause the pain and sensation i describe, would it cause the penis lips to become inflamed then go back to not inflamed on a day to day basis ?

Thanks

Welcome back to the Forum.  I'm sorry that this continues to be a problem for you.  I have reviewed your interactions with Dr. Handsfield and agree with his assessments and statements.  This is clearly not an STD and almost certainly is not related to your interaction with a stripper months ago.  I do have a few comments however which I hope will be helpful to you.

First, the nature of the sort of problem you describe typically takes repeated evaluations and often some trial and error.  I don't know if your decision to go from doctor to doctor was their choice or yours but it does not serve you well.  I'm particularly disappointed to hear of a doctor who gave you medications without even examining you.  You need to seek a doctor who will see you repeatedly to monitor change or lack of it, providing that they agree with you that there is an abnormality.

Second, your past thread and this one suggest that your guilt/anxiety may be contributing to this.  You need to deal with this somehow, whether on your own or with a counselor or mental health professional.

I hope this perspective is helpful.  Continuing to worry about an STD will not help.  EWH
