Risk of STD - Do I need testing for HIV and other STDs"

I am a 33 year old male married for 8 years. I travel for work. Last week I lost my mind for a while and I got the services of a commercial sex worker. She was a 22 year old white female who has been a sex worker for 3 years. Her status is unknown, but lets assume she is HIV + or has other STD's.

When she arrived I got very scared to have sex. So there was no penetration. Here were the acts that were performed

1) Me lightly sucking on her breasts.  She said she has a nine month old kid so not sure if she was lactating or not. But I did not taste anything coming from her nipples (4 to 5 mins)
2) Body massage on the back and  on the arms/hands (15 mins)
3) I touched/fingered her vagina. DId not insert my fingers deep inside but just a little bit. This was for about 2 to 3 mins.
4) She finally gave me a hand-job. But I could not get myself-up (probably becus of the guilt). She used some of my mositurizer lotion to rub my penis for about 5 mins.

Then after that I asked her to leave. Could you please tell me my exposure to HIV and other STDs.
The reason I'm getting scared is on day 7, I started getting a rash on my hands. From back of wrist to up elbow. Small reddish little bumps. Both hands and also on the legs. Inside of the lower thighs to slightly below the knees.
What do you think?  Please provide your honest advise. I travel back home next weekend and my wife will probably want me to have sex with her. Last thing I want to do is infect her for my stupidity.

Thank you so much

Welcome to the forum.  Thanks for your question.  I'll try to help ease your fears.

First response, after the opening lines, specifically "So there was no penetration."  That means that almost certainly there was no STD risk. They call them STDs because sex is necessary to transmit them -- and that means real sex, not the sort of things you did with your commercial partner.

Mouth-breast contact, massage, fingering, and other hand-genital contact do no transmit these infections:  no risk for any and all STDs.

I cannot say the cause of the apparet rash you describe.  I doubt it is connected with the exposure you have described -- if it is, the only possibility is an allergic reaction of some sort, for example to a sexual lubricant if one was used.  No STD causes this sort of thing.

"Please provide your honest advice."  That is the only kind of advice ever given on this forum. And in this case, that advice is to ignore this event, do not get tested for any infection, and continue normal relations with your wife.  That's what I would do if I were in your situation.

Do not confuse your obvious guilt and shame over a sexual choice you regret with STD risk from that choice:  they are not the same.  Deal with the former as you need to, but forget the latter.

I hope this has helped ease your mind.  Best wishes--  HHH, MD
