STD from kissing(deep) and skin-to-skin contact

I am male from India.. I have some questions rearding the exposures I had

Just fyi, I had tested for all STD's 2months back and all turned negative.. No tests done on Oral and all of them are Blood tests

But 1week back I had a sex encounter during which I deep kissed a CSW.. Kiss was like for 20-30sec not more than that. No saliva exchange and but I feeled her tongue. I didnt find any sore on her lips but inside I dont know.. I had couple of small unpainful cuts in my mouth and small dotted blood clots near my cheek while kissing, this is where I am worried..

After kissing immediatly I washed my mouth with soap. Within 30min I cleaned my mouth with Mouth wash. Also within 1hr I gargled my mouth with gargle liquid bought from medical shop.. Also after vaginal sex also I cleaned my gential area with soap.

I gone through many sites in which they say that most(90%) of the STDs didnt show any symptoms..

My questions are:
1) Because of my cuts and blood clots Did it involve any risk for STDs(Gonorrhoea, NSU, Chlamydia, Hep A/B/C, Syphilis, Herpes(HSV-1 & HSV-2), Warts) including HIV.
2) It is silly to ask that I used antibodies and mouth wash, will it gonna help at that time?

I had some symptoms
- On the top of my penis after the day of Sex I had 3 unpainful red spots not sores..This could have happen coz I washed head of penis with soap immediatly after sex..It healed in 2 days
- In my mouth after 4days of exposure I had white dots looked like vitamin deficiency not sores/blisters. It is recurring now and then and goes of same day..Also I had bad mouthing like morning before brushing..
- I have dry throat.. I feel like to have mint chocolates..
- On my butt I had 1 small yellow puss looked like fungal infection not sore/blisters..

3) These Symptoms should I be concerned or move on? Do I need to go for any tests?

I need a strict/honest opininon on these doctor including HSV-1..

I think I had safe sex except kissing.

Finally I understood things in detail about HPV and Herpes. I didnt get detail information like this even in CDC.. THe info over there is common but what you have given is from your professional experience.

But one last thing.. You didnt comment on my symptoms I had written in my inital thread..

I will just revisit you that..
- On my butt I had 1 small yellow puss looked like fungal infection not sore/blisters.. It healed in same day..
- Lastly, after/from 4th day of deep kissing, I am getting many white sores inside mouth which are painless and healed in the same day.. Generally this doesnt occur in the same area..And mostly this looks like vitamin deficiency.. I am more concerned about this last one..

Does these symptoms resemble any STD's importantly SYphilis or Gonorrhoea??

This goes on and on.  It is time for this thread to end.  This will be the final answer and they will be brief.  For additonal information on HPV I suggesst you visit the AMerican Social Helath Association (ASHA) web site.

For better or worse, at present HPV is a "fact of life" and most people have it or will have it at some point in the future.  Despite this fact, only a tiny minority of persons with HPV get the consequences of infection (primarily women and primarily cancer and pre-cancerous lesions).  HPV is the most commonly acquired STD.  Over 85% of sexually active women will have HPV infection at some time in their lives.  The figure for men is less well studied but similar.   In some HPV will cause genital warts, in others it will not cause warts and can be totally asymptomatic but may lead to changes in PAP smears.  In nearly everyone who gets HPV, warts or otherwise, the infections will resolve by themselves without therapy in 8-24 months.  In a very small minority of women, HPV infection can persist and lead to the pre-cancerous lesions that PAP smears detect and which can then be treated.  For men there is far less risk of any sort.

there are no reliable blood tests for HPV and becaue the infection is so common and typically inconsequential, no testing of any sort is recommended.

The HPV vaccine prevents infection quite effectively.  It is FDA approved for men less than 26 years of age.  For older persons it is still quite effective but insurance typically will not pay the more the $300.00 it costs.

With this, this thread will end. Please visit the ASHA web site.  EWH

Why I have asked these question is.. I have spoken to STD enquiry from UK they have told me following things about HPV..

They said there are around 100 HPV viruses causing warts and out of which 30 cause genital warts.. Most of these will not show any symptoms and still it is contagious..

They also added that there is no test for HPV and PAP smear test is only for women who have symptoms.. Futher added that It will also take months or years to show symtoms and still contagious..

Since I am planning my marriage now I am afraid/shocked to go forward considering my case.. I dont know how to explain my scenario to girlfriend..

From going through your threads and Dr.Hunter's thread I understand that this is most difficult topic to discuss..

Really & strongly appreciate this forum and your service. They are really eye opening infos.

4) Lastly in one of the thread you have mentioned about injection for HPV..Can I go for that at this time? Is it recommendable now?

Please clarify my above 4 questions considering what I have heard from STD enquiry.. Your answers will really help me to take decisions to go forward or wait..

Just a question on your comment

"With regard to HPV, the fact is that virtually everyone has it and to worry about it serves no purpose."

1) I didn't had any lesions or any sort of thing in last three months.. Does this confirm that I didnt have any HPV/warts symptoms and no infection.. Or should I wait for some more time for confirmation?

2) Usually what is the window period for onset of symptoms of HPV? Also Window period for identification in blood tests?

3) I read that most of HPV/warts types are low risks and cleared of by itself in 1 or 2years.. Only the high risk ones(2 types) stay. Is it true?

1.  Testing for HPV is a waste of time. condoms reduce risk for HPV and herpes but do not entirely eliminate risk.  That said, if you have not developed lesions of herpes I would not worry. With regard to HPV, the fact is that virtually everyone has it and to worry about it serves no purpose.

2.  No (I asked for no more general questions.

3.  No

Don't be silly.  There is no reason for you to with hold your affection for your brother.  EWH

Thanks again for your comments.. I will wind up this thread with this last post

End questions and exposures

In last three months I had vaginal sex with handful of ladies out of them 6 were CSW.. In all the encounters I used condom for vaginal sex.. My question regarding this

1) Does it involve any risk for Herpes and HPV around the genital area? Should I need to get tested for HPV? coz I read that HPV will be spread by skin to skin contact.. I didnt see any sores for any of the ladies in their genital area..

2) General question: Does smear test from mouth gud for Gonorrhoea?

3) I had small puss like thing in my butt-thight joint area and small white dots in mouth(unpainful), does this relate to any STDs?

Should I need to be stop kissing my small brother on his cheek or sharing things with him or my family..

Thanks in advance for your answers.. WIth these questions I will end my comments..

I will briefly answer this question although we typically do not answer "in general" questions as there is too much person to person variability for the answers to be helpful.  No follow-up questions please.

Your oral cuts do not in any way change my comments or recommendations.

1.  Oral STDs are not transmitted by kissing but by oral-genital contact.
2.  There is no evidence that washing or gargling with soap or anything else would be effective for reducing risk for infection.
3.  As I said, no risk. therefore there i no need for testing of any sort.
4.  Your statement is incorrect. Most people who get herpes are aware of lesions, they just attribute them to something other than HSV.  It is for this reason that most people with HSV do not KNOW that they have infection.
5.  Actually I would move on with or without symptoms.  If you get a sore throat it would not be likely to be due to an STD.
6.  Correct

Take care. EWH

Thank you very much for your answers and it is really helpfull.. I want to say that service from this forum and clarity of information are best and big kudos for that...

I have gone through many of yours and Dr.Hunter's answers which are really helpful..

I asked only because of my cuts and blood clot during kissing.. Is this gonna have any impact to STD's?

I never had HSV-1 or HSV-2 doctor as my tests 2 month back confirmed that..

1) When it is said oral std it is caused by oral to gential contact isn't it? and not because of kssing?
2) My precaution like washing with soap and mouth wash, will it be helpful after the exposure considering STDs? or is it just my sillyness/stupidy? This question is for my learning purpose and precautions
3) Even other tests(like Swab) also not needed isn't it?
4) Finally, most articles from other websites claim that herpes(HSV-1 or HSV-2) in most cases doesn't show any symptoms. How far this is true?
5) Should I look for symptoms or move on?
6) I heard that Herpes-1 is like common cold or fever then y ppl make su much fuss about it.. This infection is readily manageable isn't it? and most ppl in the world doesn't even know that they are infected.

I only go through doctor's forums just for expert/eperience/correct advise.. This forum database is huge and helpful. Many people around my place doesn't know about this service. I am definitly gonna recommend to my friends..

I request you to answers to my question than in general. I understand that most of my questions are very repetitive to you.. Just borrowing extra 2min from your busy schedule..

I m happy that I atlast I m in the right place for knowledge and info..

Welcome to our Forum. If your only exposure was kissing, even deep kissing there is absolutely no risk of getting any STD in this way. This includes HIV and hepatitis viral infections.

HSV-1 might be transmitted through direct contact but in the absence of a lesion on her mouth this occurs less than 1 in 1000 exposures and probably far less.  If you do not develop a cold sore yourself in the next two weeks, you did not get HSV-1 from this exposure either (I would add that even if you have never had cold sores before there is a greater than 60% chance that you already have HSV-1.  If you already have it, you cannot get it again.)  Blood testing is not recommended in this situation.

I hope my comments help. EWH
