STD or Urinary Problems?

I had risky exposure back in March 2006 with female escort - insertive anal with condom for 5 minutes. I have never had symptoms of stds but got checked for Chlamydia/Gonorrhea/Herpes 1 & 2 - All Negative.

In Jan 2007 I saw the PCP for testicular pain which came in waves of pain. He pescribed Levaquin for epididymitis.  My symptoms cleared up.  Three weeks later I started having frequency, urgency, dribbling of urine when urinating and senstive penis.  My PCP doctor checked again for C/G which the test came back negative.  He put me on doxycycline. My Urinary Symptoms did not clear up.

PCP refered me to Urologist which they did several test including a scope of my urethra, bladder and prostate.  The scope revealed no infection or inflammation.  He put me on medication for Over Active Bladder.  The urologist advised me to do Kegel exercises to help get control of my urinary functions. I have also noticed after having sex with my partner that I am dribbling semen after sex and occasionally over the past couple months have had a clear discharge.  The urologist has dismissed these systems as being part of same problem.

Is it possible that my exposure last year could be the result of std transmission?  Maybe NGU?  Could that have triggered these other urinary problems?  My worry is that I do not want to put my girlfriend at risk..

I am probably being stupid but looking for fresh opinion. Thanks

I agree with your urologist in all respects.  Your current symptoms do not suggest any STD and are unrelated to your sexual adventure over a year ago. Your girlfriend is not at risk of anything, and you have nothing that will ever harm you.  (And I am skeptical about the epididymitis diagnosis.)  Your later symptoms did not clear up with doxycycline because you have no infection, as your urologist apparently told you.  You have male pelvic pain syndrome, which is often (usually? always?) a manifestation of genitally focussed anxiety, which in turn can result from an anxiety-producing sexual encounter.

Read this thread from a week ago:  http://www.medhelp.org/forums/STD/messages/4380.html

Also look at this link, which was posted in that thread:  http://www.pelvicpainhelp.com/excerpts.html
