STD survival time

Which type of STD survives outside of the body for the longest time?

Could it possibly be passed on via an infected lubricant, towel or food?

Dear Doc,

I had some difficulties posting my question, so Phil posted it on my behalf under Joey683.

My recently ex boyfriend had confessed that he had inserted a tube of lubricant into a sex worker he had seen couple of times, some of the gel was sucked back into the tube. About 2 to 3 days after, we had sex, using the same lubricant. What are the chances of my contacting an std from this if that sex worker had std?
Also, he said that he also liked having peanut butter on his finger and fingered her, eating it after that. What are the chances of him contacting std from that? What if there was some blood in that, would the std be contractable by eating the blood?
I am worried sick. Please help me, I can't concentrate on anything.
Want to tell you thank you very much for providing this service. I don't think I would be able to go and see a doctor and ask these questions directly. Please help
Thanks again

In 30+ years working in a busy STD clinic (15,000 patient visits per year), I have never seen a case acquired by environmental exposure.  It simply does not happen, period.  Duration of survival of the organism is only part of the reason.  I cannot say which STD pathogens survive better than others outside the body, but it doesn't matter.
