Salty taste on tongue

Sir, I was at a sex club and engaged in touching females body and vagina (left hand) and masturbating (right hand) after ejaculation I washed both hands. Immediately after, in the bar area which was somewhat crowded, I had a glass of water and had the sensation of a salty taste just on the tip of tongue as I drank it. I rinsed my mouth with water.

To my knowledge I was not splashed by any sexual fluid by any one prior to that so anything that may have been on my lip must have been minute - the same should be said of the glass. It may have been a drop of sweat from someone and theoratically could have been semen or something like that.

I had had a little bit too much alcohol and my oral mucosa felt a little tender prior to going to the club, though there was no evidence of bleeding prior to going to the club or the next morning - however I am very anxious about the risk of HIV or other STD from this experience.   Please advise.  Many thanks.

Sir, Thanks for yor reply.  The club was an on premise swingers club though I did not engage in any form of penetrative or oral sex.

The salty taste was either sweat, vaginal fluid OR semen though the quantities will have been extremely small as none was seen by me.  It was present on the tip of my lip and got on to my tongue when I put the galss to my mouth OR on the glass OR came from another persons hand and on to the glass at the bar area.

Would your advise still hold true for all these combinations?  Thanks again

Maybe it was margarita salt?  The dr. will tell you you have a no risk experience.

No STD causes salty taste in the mouth, nor can any STD cause any symptoms within a 2-3 days, let alone within 2-3 minutes.  As to whether the salty taste resulted because the "dancer's" (not sure what to call her) genital secretions got into your mouth, it sounds impossible from your description.  But if somehow that happened, you wouldn't catch HIV or any STD by that sort of exposure.  My advice is to forget it; too little risk to be tested or to lose any sleep over it.

Best wishes--  HHH, MD
