Scared about HIV

Hi Doc,

I am a 25 year old male and have been a virgin all throughout until 15 days ago when i had sex with a CSW, which I very deeply regret now.

So, I had a protected intercourse with this CSW, and received fellatio unprotected. I fingered her also, exposing myself to her vaginal fluids.

On the same day, I deeply kissed another girl, again a CSW, and received  unprotected  fellatio.

Exactly two weeks after these encounters, I got a very bad sore throat and a mild flu. I have muscle ache and body itching also at night. I don't know if these are symptoms because of anxiety, but I am scared to death. I am getting nightmares almost daily these days.

1) i know the risk from kissing and receiving unprotected  oral is theoretically very low. But I am scared for the fact that the symptoms I have 2 weeks after the incident is very similar to ARS. Could this be because of anxiety, or symptoms of any other std i would have contracted from the girls?

2) As far as I can remember, the condom didn't break, and she sprayed a lubricant before the encounter. But, i ejaculated inside the condom while it was inside her. I withdrew and saw the semen hanging from inside the condom. Is that a risk? And the risk in fingering?

3) Because there are two encounters, will it increase the chance of me acquiring hiv? Like, acquiring some sort of sti from the first person, and because of that, aggravating my chance of acquiring hiv from the second girl.

Doc, I know i am being paranoid and scared. Please help and advice me on what to do next.

I am meeting my parents and sister next week. They are my life and I dont want them to contract anything because of hugging me.

Regards,
Nick

Welcome to the Forum. I'll try to help.  I suspect that your current flu-like illness is unrelated to the events that you describe above.  There is no risk for HIV or most other STIs from kissing, from masturbation ("fingering") of a partner, or condom protected sex.  Thus your only real risk at all is from receipt of unprotected oral sex which is a biologically inefficient mechanism of STI transmission.  The only STIs acquired from receipt of oral sex from an infected partner are gonorrhea, nongonococcal urethritis and occasionally herpes.  Gonorrhea and NGU cause genital symptoms such as a discharge or discomfort on urination while if you have not had the appearance of penile sores in the two weeks since your encounter, you can be confident that you did not get an herpes.

In answer to your specific questions:
1) i know the risk from kissing and receiving unprotected  oral is theoretically very low. But I am scared for the fact that the symptoms I have 2 weeks after the incident is very similar to ARS. Could this be because of anxiety, or symptoms of any other std i would have contracted from the girls?

See above, this is most likely a coincidental illness that you caught unrelated to the encounters you describe.

2) As far as I can remember, the condom didn't break, and she sprayed a lubricant before the encounter. But, i ejaculated inside the condom while it was inside her. I withdrew and saw the semen hanging from inside the condom. Is that a risk? And the risk in fingering?

No risk in either case.  When condoms fail they break wide open leaving no doubt that they have broken.

3) Because there are two encounters, will it increase the chance of me acquiring hiv? Like, acquiring some sort of sti from the first person, and because of that, aggravating my chance of acquiring hiv from the second girl.

No, the two encounters are separate events and do not otherwise increase your risk.

My advice is to not worry about STIs or HIV form this encounter,  I hope you will be feeling better soon.  EWH

Hi Doc..
I have a story similar to my friend who started this discussion.
I am a male 25 & Virgin all my life.
I have a girlfriend shes divorced & 33 years old with 2 Kids. She is HIV negative & i am also HIV negative as per our medical reports almost 5 6 months ago.
I slept with her 2 days back.
We had lots of kissing.
She gave me oral also i had intercourse with her for 3 minutes without condom & i ejaculated by taking out my penis on a tissue paper.
The same hapened twice that night. I told her to use condoms but she dis agreed & said laughing shes not a prostitude & she is clean so i am.
After that i just got a few sneezes after that else everything is good with me.
So i should believe i am safe & can i continue with her.
Need for guidance. Thank u

Hi,

Just to let you know that I got syphilis from this exposure. Doctor told me this is one of the rarest cases he has seen.

This was the first and only time i had sex with someone. And I got std .

No I am extremely worried about my family as I hugged and kissed them on their cheeks when I visited them after around 3 weeks after exposure.  Will that pose a risk? should I tell them about this and ask them to get tested?

I dont know what to do. I am in such an emotional state. Now I am worried about hiv also as two weeks before I got a hand job from a girl and I fingered her too. Syphilis might raise the risk by 5 times, as I read somewhere.

Please help this unlucky soul doctor.

I see no reason for testing at all based on the exposures you have described. EWH

Thanks a lot for the reply, doctor.
Feeling better now.

Still have sore throat, and a congested feeling inside my chest. Occasional chest pains also.

Even though the risk of hiv is very low as you said, do you think I should get tested for hiv, and all other stds?

Thanks again!
