STD RISK WITH ONE TIME ESCORT ENCOUNTER

I had an encounter with an escort 16 days ago.  Received unprotected oral for 3 min &protected vaginal sex for 3 min. I am in committed relationship After 1 day, started frequently urinating & it continues. The urine is light yellow to clear.  There is excess urine in my underwear, no discharge. At day 11, I felt a sharp pain in the perineal region when I would strain. I also could feel the same sharp pain in the upper left pubic area upon straining (I think my groin glands could be swollen. no pain when I press on the glands. This pain (quick-sharp pain) occurred app 10 times over 2days (when I strained), no burning during urin.  Noticed in the area of my circumcision ring at the bottom left side of my penis there is a little section that is more red than any other part of my penis no bumps or sores (herpes?). I noticed this on the 2nd day, still red. The last 4 days I have also had tight neck/shoulder & muscles/discomfort and twice, my left finger has felt like it is asleep. Day 13, I went to the doctor for frequent urination and the sharp pain, he gave me a shot of Rocephine and five 750mg Levaquin. He told me this would knock out Gohneria, Syp,& Chlamy. Qs: 1)Was the doctor right about the prescribed medication knocking out or prevent me from getting the 3 STD

You describe a low- to zero-risk exposure.  None of your symptoms suggests STD; they sound mostly like anxiety over your infidelity, nothing more.  And a health care provider has reassured you--and also treated you for the common STD, and indeed that treatment would have knocked out the infections you mention.  (That treatment was unnecessary, but not harmful.)

To your specific questions:  1) Yes, your doctor was right.  2) No STD risk to speak of, especially after the treatment you had.  3) Neither I nor anybody else can gurarantee you are disease free.  But from the information you provide, there is no reason to suspect you have anything you can transmit sexually to your wife.

Good luck--  HHH, MD

Hey Doc,
Thanks in advance for all of the help.  Sorry for all of the abbreviations in the first post, I had to cut out a few items to fit the format.  A couple of more symptoms.  My throat has remained red and slightly tender the entire 16 days and as for the red area on my penis, I believe it was three or four days after the encounter that I observed this red mark (instead of day two).  There are no sores; however, it is slightly raised and I do not know whether it is raised because this is where my circumcision ring is located or what.  Within the last four days I continue to have the urge to urinate, but there are times when little urine comes out (no burning though).  I do not know if these are symptoms for STD's or my stress level going up as I have found it hard to sleep as well.  Lastly, the numbness in my finger I listed in the first post was my left index finger and my right big toe too.  This numbness presented itself a few hours after the shot of Rocephine and last night (day 15) as I was trying to go to sleep.  Once again, thank you so much for your time and advice!

The additional information does not change my opinion.  Return to your doc if you remain concerned about your symptoms, but they suggest nothing wrong.
