Certainly many men have a small amount of clear urethral secretions detectable from time to time, most often after awakening or following straining to have a bowel movement.
The sensation that you have not fully emptied your bladder is not a typical symptom of STIs. EWH
Dear EWH, went to vacation and irritation has subsided. Sea water seems to help. Will go to D-V for a check up when i come back.
One final question; There is a very small bit of clear and sticky fluid coming out of urethra. Usually few hours after first morning urination but sometimes after the swimmining. Never before first urination. Looks like normal prostate precum fluid, absolutely clear! Also, sometimes there is a feeling that i have not fully emptied my bladder. Should i be worried?
Thank you in advance!
it woul dhave been more informative if the doctor had tested you. Despite that, you are correct, my answer does not change. EWH
The swab ot urine tests were not performed because the doctor thought it was not an std at the time of my first visit! Guess that your answer remains the same.
Welcome to the Forum. Your risk for any STI from encounters in which a condom was used throughout the encounter is quite low and your symptoms are not typical for most STIs.
I presume that when you saw the dermato-venereolgist that tests were performed for NGU using either a swab or urine test, as well as perhaps tests for other STIs. Either way, the doxycycline you received is recommended therapy for NGU and would have treated chlamydial infection and most gonorrhea in the unlikely circumstance that you had it. This risk for trichomonas from an exposure of the sort you mention is quite low as well and if a urine test was performed, a UTI (quite rare in men under age 40) would have been detected.
As this time there are two major possibilities that come to mind. One if a non-STI related fungal infection which might be causing local irritation and the other is simply increased focus on your genitals following your dalliance. My bias is to favor the latter. the safest course of action would be to return to the dermato-venereologist who you saw before for follow-up, acknowledging that there may be nothing to be seen.
At this time, I personally doubt that there is any reason to abstain from sex with your GF however, if you remain concerned, the follow-up visit mentioned above will remove any concerns at all. EWH
