This is a repetivie question. My answer has not changed. From above "Thus why not just put your fears to the test an get a test. If the lesion you are so concerned about was syphilis, your blood test would be positive. In your case however, I have no doubt that your test will be negative." EWH
I had my GF look at MC pics and look closely at my lesion in my pubes. There was no waxey material or anything that oozes...She pulled some hairs that were around it..based on her examination it looked like something filled with blood...as a result of maybe an old ingrown hair....she plucked some hairs around it and applied peroxide. I am also on zithromax for a soar throat from a cold. But I am only taking the one dose a day as recommended. I have read how the zithromax is supposed to be taken and I dont think it was the antibiotics but it seems to have gone down. Could a syphilis chancre have lasted 5 months? Again I saw it first in December and been picking at it since. No secondary rash---and it never went away until now that I applied some peroxide and plucked some hairs away from it...there is no puss...it never oozed so I do not think it was syphilis...again its way up in my pubic area.
Can't comment on the "MC craze" sorry. Have not noticed it.. EWH
I will do that---whats with this whole new MC craze? The docs in dermatology dont consider it an STD but more of a hygiene issue...and even then its doesnt seem like i have that ....because of the texture
You're right, you post was difficult to follow. Despite that, syphilis is just not a possiblity from either your initial or subsequent posts. There are many possible causes of a recurring lesion but syphilis is not among them in the manner you describe. In the pubic area folliculitis is the most likely possibility.
Sorry, we do not look at pictures on this site. We've tried this a number of times and our experience is that they are just too often misleading. There is no substitute for having a trained clinician take a look at a skin lesion that you have questions about. That is what I woul suggest- perhaps going to yoru local STD clinic or a ermatologist. EWH
I have a clear picture of this--no genital exposed in picture -- is it possible to email you this? If you send me a message maybe I can reply?
I had read about MC and this websites derm section and read on someone elses thread it wasnt contagious. Could it be hygiene related? Lubrication and not washing after masturbation....i have 1000 mg of antbiotics..zithromax...dont know if that cures it..syphilis....if it is syphilis... A friend also told me a nuerosurgens wife gave birth to child with syphilis...my friend works in the nicu at a hospital. So how could such wealthy people miss this? The rash, sore etc. Am I working myself up? Is this syphilis? Nothing is on my penis no sores. there has been irritation due to masturbation but nothing else.
I think you may have misunderstood my rambling. I just learned about MC. From this website. Nobody has examined this lesion. I know its been there before and left and now its back and not going anywhere. The information I got about it was from the dermatology section on this site. The lesion itself appeared in Sept 2011 It is now January. I dont know if picking it can make syphilis stick around. As I said I have shaved the area in the past...I dont know if that could be it. I dont know if it was the sight of an ingrown hair and now is a scar....I just dont want it to be syphilis. I know i have read all these reports of syphilis on the rise and it due to oral. But I have no sores on my penis and no rash on hands feet nothing. Would a syphilis sore still be around? I took a picture when I first started to pic at it in September of 2011.
I think you have already answered your own question. You have been examined by a trained clinician who has told you that you have molluscum contagiousum which in many cases is not an STD. Your picking and scratching has likely irritated it an perhaps even caused scarring which is the reason the lesion has the dark color you describe. If this was syphilis don’t you think your dermatologist would have said so….or have one a test??
The empiric FACT, as verified by study of the infection is that syphilis resulting from oral sex is so rare as to be a reportable event of interest. Similarly syphilis of the public region is likewise extraordinarily rare. The tone of your question however suggest that there in nothing I can say to dissuade your guilt driven fears. Thus why not just put your fears to the test an get a test. If the lesion you are so concerned about was syphilis, your blood test would be positive. In your case however, I have no doubt that your test will be negative. EWH
