Can I get an STD from...

Hi there,

I'm freaking out here.  I went to a strip joint and went for a private dance.  I was drunk.  The girl was dancing for 5-6 songs.  During this time, I was sucking on her nipples...nothing else.  However, everyone once in a while, I would touch her anus and outside of her vagina...no penetration that I can remember.  Girls typically don't allow it.  Then, with those same fingers that I touched her anus and vagina, I would play with her nipples...then...after a while, suck on those nipples.  Can I get any STD (herpes, HIV etc...) from doing this...perhaps transfering fluid from the anus/vagina to her nipple then sucking on them?  Please help.  Should I be worried or get tested?

Thanks,

V.

They're called sexually transmitted diseases because you have to have sex to get or transmit them.  For purposes of transmitting infections, the exposures you describe don't count as sex.  No STD, including HIV, is ever transmitted by the indirect routes you describe or imply.  You should not be worried and do not need testing.

Good luck-- HHH, MD
