Unprotected sex for 1-2 mins with only pre-cum, hiv likely?

Ok, heres my story. I met a girl in a college town, we had unprotected sex for like 30 secs to 2 mins at tops... but none of us cummed. The girl was 17 and im 18. I know she gets around alot.... shes pretty so I wouldnt be surprised if she slept with like 30-50 guys. This was the first night I met her and we had unprotected sex, so it seems shes not praticing safe sex. I had alot to drink that night and wasnt fully erect if that helps any. It was Vaganial intercourse. The main reason im concerned is I have these small white spots that come in my mouth, like maybe on average 1-2 new spots per day. It has been 3-4 months now after the exposure, about a day or so after we did it I got a really sore throat and felt bad. I got 1 or 2 night sweats like a week or so after the exposure. Really im so concerned about the white spots in my mouth, they are usually pretty small and when I scrape them off there is a little bleeding under it. I never noticed if I had this before the exposure or not, I didnt look until I read it was a symptom of hiv. Everywhere I read says thrush is a sign of hiv, I have white spots but not a white tongue really. Is it possible for me to have thrush already at 3-4 months after the possible hiv expsoure or would it take say 2-3 years before I see thrush. I figure my immune system could just be starting to weaken and im getting this very little thrush so far. Another thing that concerns me is this girl use to live in Korea ( Seal) and Thialand. I know the hiv rate is low is Seal Korea but not in Thialand. I have been tested up to the point of that last exposure and was clear of all stds and hiv. So it is certain that I didnt have hiv or std before I did this with this girl. I did notice when she got off me my tip of my penis was a little moist, so this was her vaginal fluids on me. I have read time after time it is hard for a male to get hiv from a one time exposure, but yet I went into yahoochat room hiv board and have talked now to 2 males who claim they got hiv from a one night stand with a girl. One guy told me he got it from Oral sex with a girl. So im assumming these are those unlucky 1 out 500 or 1 out of 1000 or they are lying and trying to scare me for some unkown reason. I wanted to ask you also how does one get thrush besides HIV? I went to the dentist a few years back and he told me I bite my cheeks when I sleep, I have alot of blood spots inside of my cheeks... ive had these for years and years. Like little sores, but could this disrupt the flow of my bacteria in the mouth and cause oral thrush somehow? I also have one tooth pulled in the back lower side of mouth on both sides, I notice the white spots usually appear right around that area.... and sometimes white looking stuff on the gum area of where the tooth was pulled. I eat a very poor diet and dont get fruits and veggies ever really. I eat lots of sugars, pizzas, etc. Im just wondering what could be causing this thrush and do you think I have hiv from this? Thank

Variations on your questions have been asked innumerable times.  Search other threads on "HIV transmission risk" and "HIV anxiety" for more detailed advice.  The basic responses are that it is very unlikely our partner had HIV; even if she did, the risk of transmission for any single episode of vaginal sex is low, probably on the order of 1 chance in 500-1000; transmission from mouth to penis by oral sex is extremely rare, if it occurs at all; and symptoms never are a reliable indicator for or against HIV infection.  The sympoms you describe do not sound like oral yeast infection (thrush), but check with your dentist if you have symptoms that concern you.

The chance you have HIV as a result of the exposure you describe is much less than the chance you will die of an accident or some other (non-HIV) illness within the next week or so.  That is zero, for practical purposes.  You do not need to be tested for HIV.

Good luck--  HHH, MD

I've been with the same sexual partner for 4 months. We have unprotected sex everytime. He has never ejaculated in me until about a week ago. If I was to get an std from him wouldn't I already have gotten it through pre-ejaculation fluid? He doesn't have to ejaculate in me to get an std, correct?

Thanks alot doc. Im so glad I got tested, I just saw a big white patch in my mouth and I knew I had it. So I said to myself, well just go ahead and get tested and get this over with. The test was NEGATIVE! Anyone thats scared should just get tested, like the doc says theres a very very good chance you dont have it no matter what the symptoms are showing. Man that felt good, I always wanted to be one of the posters that got tested and was Neg, and it sure does feel good to be one, lol. To anyone that is scared, get tested, its better to know you dont have it then to think you might have it, and most likely you won't have it. I will be back from time to time to help out scared people just like I was myself. Thanks

I'm happy for you, but in my original response above I told you there was no realistic risk of HIV and you didn't need testing.  Of course your result was negative.  The result is reliable; don't go looking for stupid reasons why it might not be.  Please do not prolong this thread with further "what if?" questions.

Is there any way the OraQuick test is old? Like they pricked my finger and I noticed on the test swab thing it said hiv-1 or whatever and not two. Is a test result with the OraQuick test at around 4 months after exposure definate? I read somewhere in this forum its a old version of the test and it takes longer for the antibodies to show up. Is this true? Thanks

Doctor, this is my final question. I just got tested with the rapid ora test ( think thats the name, lol) It came back negative!!!!!!!!!! Im soooooooo happy!!!! My question is this, the exposure was over 3 months ago, maybe 4 months but no matter what 3 and a half months ago. Could I still have it and its not showing up yet? I have heard of people having it for years before it shows up in the test. Is the quick test accurate ( the one where you get results in 20 mins). Is there any way I could still have it and its not showing up yet? Thanks so much for the support and after I find this out I can go on and live a healthy and safe life. Thanks

Hey, I just thought of something I left out. I was on a medication called Ziac for my blood pressure about a year ago. I stayed on the meds for 2 years, it was a beta blocker and Diuertic mix. I read that these can cause thrush as a side effect, I also read if oral thrush is not treated with antibotics it can come and go. It will keep coming and going until it is treated. Is this right? Thanks

Ok thanks doc. You dont have to answer this question, its to anyone that can help. Does oral thrush go away once you get it or does it have to be treated? Thanks

so lets say she was hiv positive, my odds would only be 1-500 or 1-1000? Is it really that hard for a guy to get hiv from a one night stand? My white spots in my mouth have been coming and going now for at least a month or so. What could this be, it seems like thrush to me and thats what worries me. Thanks

NOBODY on this or any website can say what the white spots are.  Your only option is to see a health care provider and I cannot imagine why you haven't done so before now.  Further repeats of the same question will be deleted without response.

No I dont expect it to change, im just worried sorry. Just one final question, the white spots like I said I can rub off and thier will be little blood spots underneath them. Im pretty sure I bite my cheeks when I sleep (so my dentist says), I asked the dentist about it because I had some swollen areas and little blood spots in my mouth ( but didnt notice any white spots at the time.... and also didnt really look for them). Anyways my question is can I get oral thrush from giving oral sex to a girl? If I did get thrush from that will it ever go away on its own or just keep coming back until treated? Im just concerned about the white spots because they just keep coming, like some days they arnt there but usually I get 1-2 spots a day. I wouldnt be worried since I know the risk is so slim I got hiv from this one time encounter, but the white spots that just keep coming really scare me and makes it hard for me to believe that im not infected. So if you have any more info on the possible causes for these white spots in my mouth I would greatly appreciate it.Thanks for all of the replys so far.

By the way, just to put your mind at ease:  even if you have oral yeast infection, it isn't necessarily a sign of HIV.  Had it myself once.

I also forgot to mention that I looked at a oral thrush pic of someone with hiv that has it, and it looked very similar to mine. Thats why I really got scared, I looked alot like mine except there were more spots and his was on roof of mouth and back of throat. Thanks for all the help, I weill never ever have unprotected sex again in my life for sure unless we have both been tested and I love the girl. Thanks

The common cold and many other minor virus infections, plus other minor conditions, can cause white spots in the mouth, especially in combination with a sore throat.  All of them are more common than the other conditions you list.

Ok, thanks. I had unprotected sex. I also had unprotected oral sex (recieved and gave)
What could the white spots in the mouth be? Could the cheek biting have anything to do with it? When I scratch the white spots of there is a little swollen area and a little blood under neath it. I know you cannot tell me if im ok or not, but ccould anything else besides hiv, diabetes, or cancer cause these white spots in my mouth? Couldnt the common cold cause white spots in my mouth or a sore throat? Thanks so much for the help.

Oral thrush generally is a sign of late HIV infection, ie overt AIDS, many years after HIV infection.  Sometimes it appears soon after acquring HIV, but not commonly.

Good plan for sexual safety.  Keep those condoms handy!
