a little worried

hi doctor. i recently slept over a freinds house. the next morning he gave me a toothbrush to use. he told me it was new at the time, but he now says it was his ex girlfriends.

i believe it hadnt been used in a few hours or maybe a few days i dont know.
what are the chances of getting an std like hiv or hepatitis from using this toothbrush??
i have sensitive gums.
should i get tested or do i need to get tested??

also i kissed a girl but my concern is that her lip is pierced. any danger there? i felt the diamond stud with my tongue while kissing. could it have cut me thus putting me at risk??
any testing needed??
thanks doc hope to hear from you soon. i appreciate it.

The two exosures you describe are no risk.  AS far as the shared toothbrush is concerned, there is no STD, including hepatitis B and HIV which would survive on a toothbrush between uses as you have described.  Any residual toothpaste (it never all gets washed off) would kill the viruses and bacteria, as would rinsing and drying.  No worry at all.

As far a piercing is concerned.  Also no risk.  Many people like the sensation of the studs.  After her piercing the hole in the tongue healed and was no more infectious than anyone else's tongue.

No testing needed.  EWH
