am I really diagnosed with herpes?

Hi doc,
I'm upset and I need to know the answer. Hope you can enlighten me.

6 years ago I had a protected one night stand with a guy. After sex, the next day I feel burning sensation when I pee. I went to see doc and she told me is an ulser which she jump in conclusion it is herpers. I freak out. She advice to perform std blood test and the result came back negative. 6 months later I retest and got negative results.from that day onwards I will perform yearly std test and it all comes back negative. But once awhile I will feel discomfort around my vagina and my lips but could not find any lession or blister just feel a little pain.
Until recently, just few weeks ago I went for my yearly test and this time my results came back positive for hsv 1 with reading of 1.24 and the reading for hsv2 is 0.8 which is at border line. Should I retest hsv1 again after 6 months to reconfirm?

My question is:
1. I'm afraid that actually I have hsv2 cos I always feel discomfort/pain at the vagina and my reading is at borderline but it is still consider negative. Is the test doesn't catch it? Week it be positive if I repeat my test end of this year or next year?
2. Why is my hsv1 turn positive suddenly even if I'm with the same guy for the last 6 years. We both tested on std before and our, results are negative?
3. If I really contacted hsv1, if I share drink with others, will the person caught the virus too?  Recently I feel pain on my lips and I share a drink with my friend, the next day she told me that she feel pain at one side of her lip but there are no ulser just look a bit red. Did she contacted herpes from me?

Thanks.

Any number 3.5 or below needs retesting and 1.24 is very low.

Hi,
Your negative for hsv2 and your hsv1 falls into the false positive range in need of retesting and in all likely hood its false positive. Re- test now if you want.
