I'm well aware that HSV-1 is no big deal, that most of the population has it, etc.
A recent blood test a few months back showed me negative for both types of herpes, so if I've contracted HSV1 it's "new."
Basically what I've got is a small, pimple-like thing on the edge of my lip, where my lip meets regular skin. It's whitish and small, about 1-2mm in diameter I'd say. It's been two days and the appearance has NOT changed--it hasn't oozed any fluid, etc. There's absolutely NO pain involved--I noticed this visually, not because it was hurting.
My concern is that the location--on the line between lip and skin--seems to be the classic location for HSV-1 cold sores...but other than that, nothing spells "herpes" to me (it's also an isolated bump, not a cluster of bumps/pustules/etc).
Basically, is this a common place for pores to become irritated or for regular old pimples to form? Any help appreciated, the more extensive the better. Thanks for your help, this site is wonderful and a true service.
