burning urinary pain

hi doctor i had unprotected oral sex with a call girl on 23rd january for about 2 mins and yesterday i got burning pain during urinating. april 2nd
i went to the doctor and told them i think i have cystitis and didnt mention the call girl situation. they took a urine test and said nothing was wrong with it when they checked it.

however does that  count out  the fact i have an std? there is also nothing on my penis that is different e.g lesions or sores
the only problem is  the pain during urinating however since last night i have had potasium citrate and drank a lot of water which has made the pain go down quite a bit

Welcome to the STD forum.  I'll try to help.

It is unlikely you have any STD from the oral sex event, for everal reasons:  1) In general, oral sex is safe sex -- not comletely risk free, but much less likely to result in STD than vaginal or anal sex.  2) 10 weeks is far too long for onset of symptoms.  1-2 weeks is usually the maximum, rarely more than 3 weeks.  3) Painful urination alone, without discharge of pus or mucus from the penis, is an uncommon STD symptom.

Even though any STD is unlikely, it was a mistake to not tell your doctor the full story.  Most likely s/he would have done an STD test (i.e., urine testing for gonrrhea and chlamydia).  In any case, non-STD urinary tract infection (UTI, also called "cystitis") is rare in men your age.  And if you had that, your urinalysis would be abnormal.

If your urinary discomfort continues, return to your doctor and this time tell the full story.    But in the meantime, there is no serous worry about an STD in this situation.

Best wishes--  HHH, MD

No.  HIV is rarely if ever transmitted by oral sex, and early HIV infections do not cause symptoms like a chest cold.
