Since I responded to your original questions several months ago, I will add a comment here.
There is nothing more to be done. You are well. It is time to just live with it and forget it. Not all symptoms mean disease, and you can be certain you have nothing that will ever harm you or a sex partner.
Since you wrote to Dr. Handsfield I have joined him in answering questions. I do not know of your previous situation but do feel comfortable in addressing the questions you have asked. Using your numbers:
1. The sypmtoms of uncomplicated chlamydial infection typically go away quickly following therapy. If you were treated six months ago, that chlamydial infection should no longer be causing your problem.
2. Very, very few people with chlamydial urethritis get prostatitis to start with. The symptoms you describe are not suggestive of prostatitis. I would not worry about this.
3. In the future, unprotected sex will place you at risk for acquiring another STD if your partner is infected. I would recommend you continue to use condoms. In general, it is a good idea for persons who have new sex partners, multiple sex partners or sex partners who practice risky behaviors to be checked for STDs at least once a year, even if they do not have symptoms.
4. Chlamydia can cause scarring of the urethra. This is very unusual and your pain symptoms are not suggestive of this problem.
5. The power of the mind is great. If you are focused on your genitals, you may notice sensations and features that you were unaware of before you began to be concerned. This is very common. Try not to worry.
6. Yes, I agree with your Dr. I suspect it is unlikely you have chlamydia or another STD causing your problems.
7. There is nothing in the history you have given which would cause me to order further testing. As I said, I would recommend that you try not to worry about this.
