While there is a theoretical chance that an STD could be transferred when an infected person rubs their genitals and then handles another person's genitals, this is a theoretical concern just as there is a theoretical concern that you could be hit by a falling satellite from space while you were in Las Vegas- i.e. it is not something to be realistically concerned about. The chances are the commercial sex worker you saw was not infected- few are. In addition, even if she was the organisms that cause STDs are fragile and are not at all efficiently transferred on one person's hands to another person through masturbation. In my over 30 years of STD focused practice I have NEVER seen or heard of such a case. it is not something to worry about. As far as the lotion that was used is concerned, STDs are not spread in contaminated lotions- typically, if anything such things kill STDs.
