In your attempted new thread, you said you are in really remote circumstances and asked in part:
"Can we take 500mg first day then 500 azithromycin in 2nd day to be sure.
we have capsules can we mix the capsule mix inside into our drinks as just can't stomach tablets or capsules; "also I can get someone to post medicine for ngu. what is it? quantity, azithromycin does it work for ngu as well." And "could it have been dormant in my system as I have no idea if my partner had another experience with someone else."
You said above you had already taken the antibiotics, and you took the right doses to cure gonorrhea, chlamydia, and NGU. You do not need any more treatment. Your partner can take the same drugs in the same doses, if she hasn't yet done so; it is OK to crush them and take them with food or drink (although I don't understand your inability to take pills; that's silly and anyone can do it). Azithromycin is the drug of choice for NGU and should be taken as a single dose of 1 gram (1000 milligrams); don't spread it over 2 days.
Don't be surprised if your symptoms don't clear up. Based on the information above and your follow-up comments, I do not think you have NGU, chlamydia, gonorrhea, or any STD, and I already told you that your symptoms are not typical for these infections. Further, it is unlikely such infections have been "dormant" and are first causing symptoms a long time later. If the symptoms persist, you will have no choice but to trek out for proper health care. I will not recommend any other kind of therapy.
It is unfortunate you cannot obtain direct health care and you should try to do that. Even in remote areas of Borneo, it probably should be possible to find an English-speaking physician -- or maybe you will have to take a side trip to an urban center.
You have misunderstood symptoms of urethral gonorrhea and chlamydial infection, whether from this forum or other websites. The primary symptom of both STDs is discharge of pus or mucus from the penis, with painful urination and/or urethral pain, itching, or mild discomfort on urination; all symptoms tend to be more prominent with gonorrhea than chlamydia. Nongonococcal urethritis (NGU), due to neither chlamydia nor gonorrhea, actually is more common than either of those infections; the symptoms are identical, howver (usually on the mild side, like chlamydia). "Pain when urination and constant sharp pains inside my penis occasional on tip" and "slight abdoninal pain" are not common symptoms with any of these infections.
That said, it would be useful to know what sexual risks there have been for any of these STDs. If neither you nor your girlfriend have had sex with other people in the past few months, that of course argues against an STD. If either of you have had other partners, of course that works the other way. However, some cases of NGU may appear in men in monogamous relationships. For example, some normal oral bacteria and some cold viruses can cause NGU, especially if oral sex is among your practices with your partner.
The apparent improvement of your symptoms might be due to an infection that is being effectively treated, but even that doesn't necessarily mean you had gonorrhea, chlamydia, or NGU. If you indeed have one of these infections, however, the combination of levofloxacin and azithromycin is likely to cure you and your partner. Levofloxacin is not recommended in pregnancy, but azithromycin alone is likely to be effective.
Since you have already treated yourself and your symptoms are improving, perhaps nothing more need be done. But you should not assume an STD was the cause of the problem. It your symptoms reappear, do not take any more antibiotic; if that happens, definitely do whatever is necessary to find a physician you can communicate with, even if it requires a couple days travel.
I hope this helps. Best wishes-- HHH, MD
