Exposure to Herpes, STDs, or HIV?

Hi, I have a question regarding whether I had an incident with possible exposure to any disease.  If so, what tests are recommended and how long should I wait before testing?

The details are somewhat hazy because I was drunk at a strip club.  But, worst case scenario,  a stripper kissed the lower part of my stomach and possibly the tip of my penis for about 1-2 seconds.  I honestly can't remember whether she did or not.  She may also have spit on my penis.  I vaguely remember the details.  My pants were on the entire time but she may have pulled down the top of them with my belt still on.

Any exposure to STD's, herpes, or HIV?  If so, what is the recommended testing?

Thanks in advance.

Sorry doctor.  The person above (romio) hijacked my thread.  Does that go for me as well?  Thanks.

You are at no meaningful risk for either HIV or herpes.  You need to relax.  EWH

And sorry Doctor, this will be my last follow up.  You can probably tell I'm a bit anxious.

This is still no risk even though she may have kissed me on the penis versus mouth?

Thanks.  This will be my last follow up.

Thanks, Doctor.

I have been tested for HSV-1 in the past and was negative.  Is such a brief exposure not a concern at all or is there a small, theoretical chance?  I've read in some of the other forums that this type of transmission typically leads to "classical outbreak" symptoms.  I am four days post-exposure with no symptoms.  Is that a good sign?

Welcome to our Forum. The event you describe was a no risk event. Other than HSV-1 (the cold sore virus), there are no STIs, including HIV, spread by kissing or exposure to saliva.  I would not worry and see no reason for you to seek testing, or abstain from unprotected sex with your regular partner, related to the exposure that you describe.  EWH
