strangely unsatisfied about answer

I had wrote in earlier this week:
As far as I know, I never have had any kind of OB, though I know from reading that it can be hard to tell. 5 days ago I noticed what I thought was a pimple on my lower abdomen. It is approximately 3 inches below my belly button...just above where my pubic hair starts to get thick. I popped it and it bled a little. I didn't feel any of the tingling or itching, etc. It never hurt, it was just there. There were also a couple of smaller ones in the area. Long story short, can a first ob be that high up on the body? Wouldn't that be an odd place at any time? They never really looked like blisters to me, but who knows.

I went to Planned Parenthood today. The woman that looked at me said although its hard to tell since they had been broken open (I know, stupid thing that I did), she doesn't think that its herpes or a wart. She said they could possibly be molluscum so she poked them then treated them with some kind of acid.

I wish I felt more relief about the diagnosis. I'm still full of what-ifs? Did she say that to make me feel better since she really couldn't tell? They look pretty red, because I had been trying to squeeze them. But they still never hurt. One I can believe was MCV. But I haven't had sex in 5 + months? why now? I assume if they were in a less than ideal state they could still be ingrown hairs or something?

I now have a small red rash below the 3 spots that started developing before the treatment. Patchy red with spots that look like swollen pores or glands?

I apologize, but thanks for your help.  Just unsure and panicky here.

These spots are a patchy red base, with a raised red bump.  Seems to be a hair coming out of each on, either in the center or on the edge of the bump.

Molluscum sounds like a possibility; sorry I didn't think of it with your first message.  But there is no way for me to know, especially if the examiner at Planned Parenthood couldn't be certain after directly examining you.  I doubt either herpes or warts.

But the bottom line is to stop worrying about it, especially if the lesion and rash heal up and don't return.  If there is a recurrence, get seen at Planned Parenthood or another knowledgeable health care provider within a couple days of onset, and before you manipulate the lesions.  But in the meantime, I wouldn't lose any sleep over this.

Good luck--  HHH, MD
