open sore on testicles

I had protected vaginal sex & unprotected oral sec with an escort a month ago. Next day i realized i  had an open sore on the testicle, near the bottom of penis shaft. I am worried that the vaginal secretions during the foreplay or oral, the open sores would have come in contact with a possible infection, if the escort was HIV +. She mentioned she was safe, but then everyone says that.

Do i have to worry about HIV or STD?

Yes, it applies to HIV.  That's all for this thread.

Just to be sure, when you mentioned no concern of STD's, it also implies no concern on HIV too. Will appreciate your response on this last one.

For the reasons described above, it is not a realistic possibility that your symptoms have anything at all to do with the sexual exposure described.  Please accept that and move on, with no concern about STDs.  Many of the symptoms strongly suggest the physical manifestations of anxiety.  Whatever the cause, they sound suffciently disturbing that you should see a health care provider about them.  But this forum is strictly limited to STDs and therefore has nothing mroe to offer you, so I won't have any further comments or advice.

Also, have a shoulder pain which was never before. The anxiety has also led to insomnia & find very difficult to sleep even with sleeping pills. I was on vacation after this incidence & have lost 4 - 5 pounds, I am not sure if this has happened due to the hectic holiday/travel or due to these incidences.

Please advise, if these conditions are of any concern.

Thanks for your reply.

The reason i got again on this forum was due to feverish feeling for last couple of days, with mild headache persisting. Also, have ticklish/pricking feeling for few seconds in different parts of body at different times, but they seemed to be around. we read all sorts of stuff on the internet these days & thus makes you wonder if these symptoms will lead to manifestation of any infection.

Are these conditions cause of any concern or am i being conscious of everything happening to body due these incidences?

OK, a new exposure.  The core question is whether a genital area sore, or other inflammatory skin lesion, increases the risk of STD, if exposed.  From a biological perspective, the answer probably is yes.  However, in my 30+ year career, I have never seen a patient with an STD that seemed to have been acquired in that manner.  As for HIV, if a lesion is not fresh and actively bleeding, there is little if any risk of tranmission by exposure to HIV infected blood or secretions.  I see no reason for concern and no need for STD/HIV testing on account of this event.  Of course you are always free to do that anyway, if you will feel better having negative tests in a few weeks.

HHH,

Thanks for the response. Both were different incidences & thus was not referred in earlier thread.

Checking the forum made me inquisitive to understand the potential risk of open sore, also the recent incidence which was expressed in other thread has made me nervous & introspecting any such other incidences in recent days.

Thus, the above question was only related to this incidence. I am sort of certain i would have not had caught this sore from the escort as i had a bump on the testicle before this encounter, but now more concerned & worried if the sore was exposed to vaginal secretion of partner with unknown HIV status.

Do i have any potential HIV/STD risk if the sore was open & exposed to the vaginal secretion? Does these vaginal secretion assuming were from HIV + person can be enough to infect the other partner through a sore?

This question seems to concern the same exposure described in your question on the HIV forum 2 weeks ago.  You already were told there was no significant chance your partner had HIV.  Dr. Hook also told you that even if she had HIV, the chance of transmission was extremely low.  The apparent sore on your scrotum makes no measurable difference in that judgment -- unless it was a fresh, deep, bleeding wound.  (To be honest, I have to be curious why you didn't mention the sore in the previous thread.)  There is no significant risk of other STDs either.

If the cause of your genital ulcer is not known and you have not been evaluated for genital herpes, that might be something to consider.  Herpes is the nost common cause of genital ulcers.  But obviously this isn't something you caught from the escort.
