Irritation or STD?

Doc, I had sex with a condom of course on Monday evening, there was anal sex invloved as well. This sexual experience is with a female, I am a straight guy, no drug use or anything like that. I had a condon through out the entire sexual experience. Afterwards I also then masterbated, hours later. The next morning my penis was soar & red. The head of the penis was bright red & red around the opening, when I walk it hurt some. When I urinate I think it stings a little, but it may be in my mind that I am focusing on it. I am not sure if I acquired a STD that quickly, the monring after, actually only hours later this all happened. Could be irritation. What do you think? I had NGU a while back but took my week's supply of Doxy, could the irritation cause that to come back? Or could this be a simple case of a irritated penis? The condom I used was lubricated but without spermicide 9. I also did not receive oral sex but gave oral sex, not long though. The weird part is the irritated opening to my penis, but how can that be irritated when I had a condom covering that entire area? Thanks my friend.

Probably just physical irritation.  If your partner doesn't participate frequently in anal sex, it likely was a "tight fit"; that plus your later masturbation might have just been a bit vigorous.  In any case, the speed of onset of your symptoms is too fast; no STD comes on that quickly.  I suggest just waiting it out for a couple of days; if symptoms don't resolve or if they get worse, get checked, perhaps at your local health department STD clinic.

Good luck--  HHH, MD
