question about red bump

About a month ago, I had an encounter with a woman who may have mutliple sexual partners. We engaged in mutual masturbation and fondling. I massaged her vagina and about 5 minutes later masturbated myself. I noticed she did have some red bumps in her public hair region but they looked like shaving bumps since she was totally shaved. Three days ago a single red bump like a pimple has formed on the shaft of my penis. It does not have seemed to have changed shape size or color since but it has also not gone away.
Am I at any risk for an STI? What other symptoms or changes to the red bump would cause concern?

Ok will do. No touching no examining either! I googled an image of a sebaceous gland and it looks pretty darn similar to that right down to the redness and I noticed that some pics of a depressed center to an extent and mine looked like that in the beginning. I dont think it is a hair follicle as it is closer to the head of the penis (on the shaft) than it is to the pubic hair region. And yup the EXACT same spot; it looked like it was healing last week but then a few days ago started to look inflamed again and started to cause discomfort especially when my pants rub against it. I will let you know what the derm Dr says as I think I can see him tomorrow. Thanks again for the help and for putting my mind at ease for a bit. Hopefully we can get this taken care of because I leave for a much needed vacation on Friday.

"Exact same spot" is additional evidence against herpes. Probably a blocked or inflamed sebaceous gland or hair follicle. Don't manipulate it in any way before it has been professionally examined: hands off, not even light touching!
So I noticed this morning, that the red mark/bump has come back in the exact same spot. For the last week it had been disappearing but now it seems to have come back and looks like when I first got it.
I plan on making an appointment with my dermatology Dr sometime this week but wanted to know if you had any suggestions of what I should ask the Dr or what I could have him look into?

In my opinion, you didn't needed HSV testing to begin with. Therefore, you don't need any more testing. However, it takes up to 4 months for HSV blood tests to become positive, and since you have already started down the testing path, you should consider a final test at that time. I'm confident it also will be negative.

I got my tests back yesterday and everything came back negative including HSV. So from my exposure noted above do you think it would be worth it to test again at 16 weeks?

"most people would have their first outbreak with 3-5 days of being infected?" Yes, and always within 3 weeks. And a herpes lesions cannot persist for several days without any change in appearance.
Even if your blood test should be positive for HSV-1 or HSV-2, it would not mean you caught it from the exposure you have asked about, and it would not explain your penile lesion. But if you'd like to let me know the result, I'll be happy to make one final comment.

I went to my Dr today and could not determine what it was. At first he said it doesn't look like herpes but then I showed him a picture of what it looked like when I first noticed it and decided to order blood tests. But to be honest I think the picture taken on Monday and a picture taken today look almost the same.

I see thank you for your advice. Just one more follow up question. Would the time between my contact with her vagina with my hand and then my contact with my penis via hand stimulation of 3-5 minutes be enough time that the virus die bc of unstable conditions?

Over 3 days, a herpes lesion typically would change into a blister then an open sore. It's also true that a pimple might have changed into an actual whitehead, but not necessarily. But maybe this is just an area of minor trauma from vigorous hand-genital contact.

Thank you for your explanation. Over the course of three days what changes would occur to that bump that might indicate hsv? I figured if it were a pimple over the course of three days a whitehead would appear but has not. And it is just a singular bump no others I have noticed.

First, there is little no STD risk from hand-genital contact, fondling, etc. Second, it seems likely your partner had shaving irritation in the pubic area and nothing more; "red bumps in her public hair region" is not typical for any STD. Third, pimples on the penile shaft are not rare; and herpes, the only STD that could possibly show up in ths fashion, would not remain unchanged for 3 days, and initial HSV infection usually causes multiple lesions.
Almost certainly the penile bump has nothing at all to do with the sexual encounter 3 weeks earlier. My advice is to sit tight; the bump probably will clear up in the next couple of days. If it does not, get it checked professionally -- but I'm confident it's no STD.
