Herpes doesn't behave at all like you describe and doesn't occur in the locations you mention, especially all sites at once.  Your doctor's diagnosis probably is correct.  But non-fungal infections, or fungi that don't respond to clotrimazole, are other possibilities.  If the problem persists despite that treatment, your next step should be to see a dermatologist.

yes i went to the doctor and he said it looks like fungus and gave me clotrimazole to apply it twice daily and have been doing so and it looks like it helps but for the past 2 days i have had a painful rash now on my buttocks,  its not in my crack or have and bumps it just started hurt when the hot water hit it in the shower. i again looked it up online and all i could find was things about herpes?

Welcome to the forum.  I'll try to help.

Skin redness is rarely if ever the main or only symptom of any STD, and the majority of genital skin rashes and irritation are not due to any STD. Absolutely this cannot possibly be HPV, for two reasons:  HPV never causes irritation or redness of any kind; and new HPV infections cannot cause symtoms of any kind (e.g. warts) sooner than 2-3 months after exposure.  And herpes is almost as unlikely; it never causes diffuse skin redness of the sort you describe.

My guess is that this is some sort of physical or allergic irritation, e.g. in response to a spermicideal cream, or a perfume, etc that your partner may have used; or you might have picked up a yeast infection from her.  (Genital yeast infections are not STDs, but sometimes yeast can be shared between partners.)

If the penile irritation/rash are persisteing, visit a doctor or clinic for direct evaluation.  You might also have a conversation with your partner about your symptoms; it would be reassuring if she hasn't noted anything wrong -- and if in doubt, perhaps she would agree to also be professionally evaluated, although I doubt this will turn out to be necessary.

I hope this has helped.  Best wishes--  HHH, MD
