slight itch, redness in crotch area

Doctor - hello.  Seems my quesiotn is similar to others I noted on the forum....

I was at a bachelor party this weekend.  Two dancers at a club took me in back...started with manual stimulation over my jeans...ended with manual stimulaiton under my jeans...

There was no sex...there was hand...and brief oral contact..less then a min for oral.  Stupid I know.

Within 24 hours or so I started with a slight itching and then redness at the bottom of the shaft / crotch area - nothing I can see on the shaft or head itself...first thing I did was dump a bottle of Purel on myself and latherd hard with soap...
still have the itch and the redness.

Do I feel guilty - heck yes...should I have other concerns as well?

Thanks

Thanks very much for the quick reply - as the saying goes - an once of prevention is worth a pound of cure...but is there anyting I can now do after the fact - to limit the likelyhood further?

I'll follow up with testing for sure.

Thanks again.

Troy

Welcome to the Forum. The exposure you describe was very low risk. My guess is that you are more likely to have irritation from the Purell than anything else.  the Purell is alcohol based and both the alcohol and the scents in it can be irritating and may be the source of your discomfort.  Soap would likely make this worse or at least more probable.  As you suggest guilt can amplify all of these “symptoms”.

The only part of your question that raises any concern at all is that you did receive unprotected oral sex.  While oral sex is an inefficient way to transmit STDs, they are rarely transmitted in this way.  Of the bacterial STDs only gonorrhea and nongonococcal urethritis (NGU) are transmitted through oral sex; chlamydia is not and without an obvious sore or lesion on your partner’s mouth, the chances of syphilis and herpes is likewise tiny.   If you had gotten gonorrhea or NGU you would have most likely developed symptoms of urethritis (penile infection).  Even if your partner had an STD (any STD and it is likely she did not), most exposures do not lead to infection.  In your case, your exposure was brief; I would urge you not to worry. If you must, you could go to your local STD clinic or health care provider to be tested at this time.  The tests will be negative and in my opinion, you do not need testing at all.

Hope this helps.  EWH
