Sorry, Your hypothesis has no basis in fact. You asked my opinion, I gave it. You think you got this from sex and it is an infection. I don't. I really have little more to offer. Time for this thread to end. Take care. EWH
Well i can agree with you doctor that i do not have an std, but im 25yrs old, after having unprotected sex for the first time ever with a girl i just met, and suddenly days after my left testicle has slight pain and discomfort.. makes me believe she gave me some infection whether or not it was an std. I do not have pain during masturbation, it afterwards once my sperm has left my testicles is when i feel the aching. so i stopped masturbating since the doctor told me i need to rest. when i was having sex with her it was already 4am in the morning so maybe i was super tired and forced my self to have an erection which then strained my testicles after climax?
You don't have an STD. As for your infection, prostatitis is not usually an STD and thus your assumption that your problems are due to sex are probably incorrect. It is a coincidence. I would work on this issue, including the issue of pain during masturbation with your doctor. EWH
Dear Doctor, I got my std test results back and I am negative on everything, the doctor i went to see says i may have an infection so he prescribed me cipro. So what do I do now? just hope the antibiotics he prescribes me cure the problem? It seems to be working.. i do feel better than before, BUT I still feel the discomfort throbbing in the left testical as it come and goes. its been day 3 that i have been on the antibiotics. So i guess im in between being healthy clean to infected with a std. Is there such thing? Im clean, i dont have any STD's, but I do have an infection that i caught from having unprotected intercourse which is hurting my left testicle. Is this common? and how do people cure this? Is this easily cured? I want to be able to masturbate every day like i used to without having pain, i havnet masturbated for a whole week since the doctor says i need to rest. so i am. But i cant stand any of this much longer.
ok doctor i will let you know once i receive the test results this tuesday, thank you.
Really no change in my opinion. I think you may be focusing on this more than is helpful. I would wait for test results. Please let un know what they show. In the interim, little more to say. EWH
Dear Doctor, I hope that is the case.. but i forgot to mention, after last night when i felt the discomfort while lying down trying to sleep which made me get up and go poop, i went back to sleep, it was uncomfortable sleeping but i finally feel asleep while tolerating it, i woke up and i feel just a little better because i got rest, but my left testicle seems to have gotten a little biggeer from the irritation whcih seems to be coming from the spermatic plexus- epididymis area. can you explain why my left testicle seems to have swollen up, its very small increase in size almost hard to see with the naked i but i can feel it and see the difference? also.. would i only make it worse by exercising such as running/ lifting weights? Im sort of afraid to move to much after last nights suffering. i still feel my left nut slightly throbbing. thank you
I suppose a muscle strain could be part of the problem as well. hernia's usually don't hurt. As i said above, epididymitis is rather unlikely and I would wait until you have test results to seek treatment. if there was an obvious infection, your doctor would have noted it and started treatment at the time you were tested.
What you describe really sounds more muscular than STD-related. If it were an STD your would likely be aware of it more of the time EWH
Thank you for responding so quickly doctor, it is a relief to see you writing to me. I meant to post this to an expert doctor who could answer my questions. Ive been research online and i found out about epidytimitis which seems to be what i think i might have.. since after having sex with a new partner, or i think i might have inguinal hernia.. i feel like 60% is bacteria infection some std and 40% could be inguinal hernia because during sex I did lift her up while during intercourse so i may have hurt myself and didnt know it, but im quite physically fit since I lift weights and work out a lot and she was not very heavy which is why i feel it is 60% std infection.. When im walking or running i dont feel the pain, but when i lie down in bed to sleep at night it feels discomfort with a dull achy to almost painful feeling, as soon as i tolerate the pain lying down.. i suddenly feel the need to use the restroom to take a dump as if the discomfort is related to my intestines and makes me want to poop. All this discomfort is only in my left testicle sort of in the back i guess where the nerves and glands are.. is it possible i got it kinked and twisted the piping connecting to my testicle? I have this feeling that I may get the test results back negative, but still have these feelings of discomfort in my left testicle. is there some medicine i should take to cure me of this bacteria infection if i do have epidytimitis?
I don't know if you meant to post this on the Expert Forum or not but there it is. I feel as though I have entered into the middle of an exchange. I'll do my best tot address what is going on.
You had unprotected sex with a new partner. Since then you have had a difficult to describe discomfort in your left testicle. You apparently have been tested for STDs and are waiting for results (feel free to correct any o f this that is incorrect).
Here are my thoughts. What you describe really does not sound like a typical STD and I suspect that your tests will be negative. I hope that in addition to tests for gonorrhea and chlamydia, you were also tested for the presence of white blood cells in your urine. There is an outside chance that you will find that you have chlamydia or non-gonococcal urethritis (NGU) from these tests and if so, you will be treated, I am sure. As for what might be going on if the tests are negative there are two main possibilities - one is that a person can have testicular discomfort with a kidney stone. This discomfort tends to be present irregularly rather than continuously. Alternatively there may be a component of anxiety (+/or guilt) in play here. Silly as it sounds, we commonly see testicular discomfort as a manifestation of these problems.
Hope these comments help. The test results you are soon to receive will help to sort this out. EWH
