Sorry your in pain ,I also have had this, followed by 4 mths of PT,They said it was my rotater cuff,is it easier to to raise that arm thumb up,although you want to avoid lifting
that arm as much as poss.Thumb up would indicate a poss. nerve being pinched there,or the muscles swollen, bursitis,PT did heat packs to help and it did, this was my expierance.
Want to mention I also have a problem with with swollen lymph nodes, have had for over 10 years. In myself this lasted 3 or so months.
Hope you get to feeling better soon hugs ... mommies4

Hi I was diagnosed with Lymphadenopathy in 1982 when all this started. I still have swollen glands and it comes and goes and is worse when I have a flare.
This Lymphadenopathy is quite common in auto immune disease, LUPUS especially but as usual no doctors have put 2 and 2 together as usual.
So glad it is coming up quickly! I see a neuro at a university medical center on the 22. I look forward to it, but feel I need to gird my loins to prepare for battle.

hi faith its the 21st cant wait, even if it is just to eliminate something else lol.
xxxx
I seem to remember that you are going to see a rheumy doc.( Forgive me, but I may be typing with my brain tied behind my back and you may have already seen the doc and posted something about it) If you dig out those papers on the lymph thing, you might want to bring that along. Part of what got me to ask you about the lymph nodes was that -- that very day I had one swollen almost to golf ball size under my left arm thanks (I think) to a flu shot.
Glad to hear the swelling went down. Are you feeling any better?
All the best of everything to you...
--faithHGL
Yes they are swollen and have been on and off for years. I was diagnosed with a lymph thing (will have to dig out the papers for the name), which is linked with Lupus but non of my doctors seem bothered. When I am feeling really ill like now my lymph on the left goes up like a gerbil lol.
My right hand is not quite so swollen today but now I have pain in my left hand. Oh joy.xxx
Just thought of something -- are your lymph nodes swollen?

Maria,
I'm always amazed at how generous you are. Even in pain, you take the time to talk to each of us. Proud of you for thinking ahead and getting that photo. Smart gal!
(((((gentle hugs)))))

dear maria,
i am thinking of you, hoping that your appointment with the rheumy is productive for you.
i think it's great that you have a photo of your swollen hand and you should get a print for your rheumy in case it goes back to normal. how long has it looked like this?
with healing thoughts and lots of hugs,
binx

well its still the same.
FaithHGL, yes my hand looked weird yesterday almost as though my fingers wanted to point to the right.............I have a constant feeling in my hands not really tingly but painful tingly if that makes sense and it is h ard to type and makes my shoulder ache more. My hand is puffy too like pockets of fluids below each finger.................
I am taking photo today of it to show the reumy as knowing my luck it will have gone by 21st.
Thyrodian, yes I hope we will have more bloods. I have lost my hunger and only eat what I need now. Something is going on i feel different.
My legs are really bad too at the moment arrrgggh and double arrrgggtgh lol.
Jibjen since i wrote I have lost another half stone, so I have lost 14pounds since xmas.
Love you all, sorry not posting but its really hard work, but just wanted to say hello.
This is one of my most persistent problems. For me, it feels as though my arms are being pulled out of their sockets. I have pain that radiates down my arms (on the underside) and sometimes my hands pull up into strange positions of their own accord. I'm convinced this has to do with a pinched nerve in my neck. When this first began around 2000 or 2002, I feared I was having the typical for females symptoms of a heart attack.
When I had xrays done a few months ago, you could actually see that my left arm was indeed pulled out of place by the muscle spasms. This will come and go, months or days on, months or days off. I'm in a on-phase at the moment and it hurts like crazy. Typing is difficult because of the position of my arms. Has made me think again about getting Dragon Naturally Speaking so I can speak my writing.
All the love to you,

Hi Maria.
Well i have had this on and off for 12 years, and everytime i go to the doctor, i am either given physio, diclofenac, and voltarol gel to rub on, and i always get a diagnosis of a frozen shoulder.
I think not, I told you to get checked again for the Lupus Anticoagulant again you had one positive , this should have been followed up with a second blood test, how incompetant they are.
If this is Hughes, i have since been told it is due to the circulation not getting through efficiantly enough which causes the pain of a frozen shoulder,
Then i come to the second part it is also seen a lot in the hip joints also.
Now what a coincidence this is.
I hope they sort you out this time, and ask that rheumy to test for APS/Hughes Syndrome.
I have my fingers and toes crossed for you, and hope you get some answers soon.
Nicola..xxxx
Hi Maria,
No experience with your particular symptoms..but I am thinking of you...I would see a doc sooner if it worsens..
Be Well
