First trip to rheumy

I made my first trip to the rheumy this week.  The first student doctor that came in was flaky and I did not like her but the attending doctor was great and very attentive.  Most of all she listened to me and did not blow me off.  After doing a thorough exam of my skin she found my handy rash on my leg that has been there for many years.  I told her that every other doctor said that it was eczema and she said NO it is not eczema.  She said it looked like sarcoid.  So I have to have a biopsy done to see if it is.  If so then I have sarcoidosis!  I am not getting my hopes up though I have been down this road too many times before.  I hope this letter finds everyone in good spirits and feeling the best that they possibly can!!  Hugs from Kentucky!!  Dawn

Sarcoidosis well strangely my brother was diagnosed with that a few years back. It took nearly 3 years to get a diagnosis, it affected his lungs in the end but he did get through it all and is now WELL.

You see something simple like a misdiagnosed rash can be the key, that is why it is so important to tell the doctors EVERYTHING no matter how small or silly.

I am glad you had a positive visit Dawn its about time. LIke you said though you dont want to get your hopes up yet but at least its a start and in the right direction too.

Kentucky, I would love to visit there maybe one day LOL.

Big hugs from Gloucestershire in the Cotswolds in the UK with the sun SHINING. Mariaxxxx
