I've been through the same waiting game a zillion times and know how incredibly frustrating and fearful it can be. What I've am still learning is to be is a bit more proactive in that I do make calls to the docs to find out why they haven't contacted me. Sometimes they have been on vacation, have forgotten, been too busy etc. Can you tell them just what you wrote, that you are beginning to fear the worst because you have not gotten an email? Once, I found the docs email in my junk folder.
Thanks everybody. Just hanging in the best I can. Appreciate the advice.
Guess I'll deal with whatever might have been found when the time comes. It's all I can do right?
Ugh! The waitng game....Samm could not have said it any better....
We have all been in your shoes and it is brutal ....
Because neurology is so intricate most docs do like to go over results and findings in person...Yes you would think that if somthing was really wrong that the neuro would let you know asap.....
Only if neuros went by Plank Time( keeping with the physics theme)then we would not wait so long....
Samm are we both physics nerds?LOL
Zen just try to keep busy and do things that you love .It will make he time go by faster and a bit easier.....
Please Take Care,
Theresa
Hi zenhound
The waiting game can get to be excruciating....I'd say you'd be abnormal if you didn't have a smidge of paranoia at this stage.
I'm in the UK, which anyway works to its very own special timetables and arcane medical protocols, but the common factor is that diagnosing anything neuro seems to take a v e r y l o n g t i m e....
Neurologists are always busy and invariably vague. And many neuros only start reading the results/notes as you walk into the consulting room (unless there's something mega in the MRIs - in which case you'd almost certainly have heard by now. No news is good news definitely as far as neuros are concerned!).
Really, when you step into Neuroworld you enter a parallel universe - one where they're only just now thinking about whether to have a Big Bang!! (But first they have to recount the neutrinos for the millionth time to see whether they really, really have enough to make a good show of it...)
Keep us posted and meanwhile feel free to rant and be paranoid here - most of us have been there....we know, we know....;-)
hugs
