More updates

I followed with my neurologist today.  I've actually been feeling fairly well and have had some pretty good days lately.  My tingling, etc. has let up a lot.  i also think the antidepressant is helping with my mood, energy and brain fogginess.  i still am experiencing some random aches, pains etc.  I also have a lot of areas that are so tender to the touch.  My neuro said today that she felt I have fibromyalgis and wants me to discuss it with my family doctor.  We had a pretty good talk about it.  I aksed the obvious questions...about why there is such a contoversy about whether or not it exists.  She feels it does.  She explained a lot to me and what she said made pretty good sense.  She said the antidepressant I am currently taking may be helping me some with that because it is similar to those prescribed for fibro.

So,  we'll see.  it'll be nice to have a name for my issues, but it's hard to be dx with something that not everyone agrees is real and that has no real test to confirm it.

hi kristin,

it is really great to hear that your symptoms are not giving you so much grief these days--that has got to be a huge relief.  i agree with sam about how excellent it is that your neuro is open to considering fibromyalgia.  yes, it's ill defined and hard to diagnose, but at least she is thinking outside of the box.

thank you for the update, and please keep us posted as things continue to unfold.

best wishes,
binx

Hi kristin

That sounds like a positive neuro appt. That's interesting info about fibromyalgia and it must be reassuring that your neuro is so knowledgeable and supportive.

And lovely to hear that you're feeling better! Thanks very much for keeping us updated. Let us know what your doc says about the FMS...

I hope all continues well....

hugs
sammxx
