losing my mind

Had my MRI done last monday and with the waiting til dec 30th is driving me insane. I have noticed lately that I find it hard to retrieve the words I am trying to say I have to stop and really think of the words I want to say its like i can see a picture of what I want to say but cant get the words out and to top this off my vision in my left eye is getting all fuzzy and like I am looking through a light fog. ugh I am gonna call radiology on monday to see if i can pick up my reports for my pcp appt on the 15th (i know i had said the 10th but i dont know what i was thinking as the 10th is a saturday). Its getting so hard to be on the pc cause its so blurry and difficult to focus right. All my blood work has come back, B12, thyroid, ana, sed rate, metabolic panel, cbc with diff and my A1C all normal. Wonder if since I got it really quick to get my mri if I could call neuro to see if i could come in sooner to get my test results. I just so want some answers as to what in the heck is wrong with me and what can we do to help me.

Hello and welcome!  I am sorry it took so long to get a response to your post, it sometimes gets a little quiet on here, especially because of the holiday weekend.

Anyways, that seems like a long time to wait for a follow-up appt after your MRI.  I would try to get an earlier appt, if possible.  If there is nothing, maybe they can put you on a waiting list; when someone cancels, they can call you and move your appt up.  Did you get a copy of your MRI on a CD?  I recommend getting a copy for your records.  It's a lot easier if you have copies of everything in case you switch doctors.

I completely understand about the word finding.  I go through "spells" with this, as well.  I can be talking and all the sudden some random word comes out.  My kids laugh at me about it, which also make me laugh!  They know what I mean, lol.  Sometimes if we didn't laugh about the stuff, we'd cry and I would rather laugh than cry!

Again, welcome!  This is a great place to find support and advice!
Take care,
Sarah

i have got nothing but the run around with trying to get a copy of. radiology told me to call the doctor, doctor said i would have to get my pcp to call or they could fax him a copy of it. called medical records they said i would have to get it from radiology sheesh didnt know it was so hard to get a copy of my medical records. ugh finally got through to doctors nurse who is gonna fax my report to my pcp, hopefully i can get some info from him on the 15th. its crazy to think you cant get  a copy of anything til after you see the doctor til after they  tell you what it says. sheesh makes me so mad. I cant get in any sooner called today and tried. if this fuzzy eye thing doesnt improve i may just call and see if there is anyway they can get me in sooner.

Wow~they won't give you a copy of the report?  There's something wrong with that!  It should be medical records job to do that.  They are the ones in charge of the records.  It is up to them to compile whatever it is you ask for.  Sometimes it may take awhile and they may charge you a few dollars, but they are the ones that do that stuff; that's what they are they for.  It shouldn't matter if you've seen your doctor yet or not.  I work in healthcare and I know that those are YOUR records and you are entitled to them whenever you ask.

If nothing else ( you can't get in to see the neuro any sooner)  you should let them know for sure about your blurry/fuzzy vision, that way it gets documented.  For some reason, it seems that it's one thing for you to tell them at an appt that something happened a few weeks ago, and another thing for them to know about it when it happens.

Hopefully they stop giving you the run-around soon and just help you!
I'll be thinking of you,
Sarah
