hello dear limbolanders,
i just wanted to check in with you all since i have taken a bit of a break. i have been checking in on the forum fairly regularly, but just haven't much to report from my end. i've been feeling poorly and tend to withdraw when that happens.
i went to see yet another new doctor last week, the day after my quarterly visit with my neuro who said she was happy to see how great i looked and how strong i was. i look like death warmed over and am as weak as a kitten, so i don't know what hallucinogens she is on. i take it all with a grain of salt at this point.
anyway, the new doctor i saw is a naturopath and a physician assistant (p.a.). who specializes in diagnosing and treating lyme disease and other neurotoxic illness. since i received the positive lyme and rickettsia test results in early august, but am allergic to most of the antibiotic used to treat those infections, i started researching alternatives. i met a mom at my daughter's school who also suffers from lyme, and so does her husband, and they both see this new doc.
i had a 2.5 hour long appointment and he listened to and wrote down everything i said for the first hour. he then gave me a physical exam and after a short break, he sat me down for another hour to tell me what he thought. first he turned on a recorder so he could burn a CD of the conversation for me to play for my husband and use for future reference. he said he is absolutely certain that i am suffering from a neurotoxic illness. he thinks lyme is just part of the problem and that i am dealing with a multitude of other issues, including mercury toxicity and exposure to other infectious agents. i have started an herbal protocol to deal with microbial infections and will also do a special metals urine test.
then today i ended up in the ER because i think i have another blood clot in my left leg. they weren't able to locate any ultrasound techs since it was the weekend, so i'm scheduled to go tomorrow. they put me on an anticoagulant shot as a precaution. i pray the leg pain is related to neuropathy rather than a DVT, but i will let you know.
i see a number of new folks on the forum, and am grateful to jibjen, sarah and you other lovely members of the group for welcoming and supporting them. i will do my best to be more present, but i know everyone understands the need to retreat into our own heads from time to time.
blessings to you all~
binx
