LOL!
Laughing at myself and my typo.
Where I wrote "Do read 'Bread" and think of hours of kneading and rising... ' it should read:
Do NOT think of hours of kneading and rising.
This recipe does have to rise a bit, but much less than most recipes, and there is absolutely NO KNEADING. You dump all the stuff together, stir it up, and let it sit for a couple of hours for the base recipe. When you are ready to bake it, you take it out of the fridge, just grab a big hunk off of it, shape it a little, drop it on the cornmeal and let it sit for about 40 minutes while you do something else. I made homemade spaghetti sauce tonight and the bread was just the best thing! Healthy, low cal, low fat, and whole wheat to boot. MMMmmmm...

Easiest Bread I've Ever Made
I'm in the middle of making this wonderful bread and thought some of you might enjoy trying it too. Do read "Bread" and think of hours of kneading and rising... I found the recipe on the Mother Earth website. The master recipe lets you make 4 loaves that will keep in the fridge for 2 weeks and this is my second round.
http://www.motherearthnews.com/Real-Food/Artisan-Bread-In-Five-Minutes-A-Day.aspx
The website gives very detailed instructions. The first recipe is for a white bread, and there's a whole wheat recipe later. I modify the white bread recipe to include 1/2 whole wheat, and I added some honey to keep the loaves tender. (Oh, and this calls for cooking on a baking stone. If you don't have one, not to worry, just use a cast iron skillet, broiler pan, just whatever. I promise the bread won't hold it against you.) If you make the bread, let me know how yours turns out.
All the best

All those veggie jokes are brill, the clean jokes are always the best.
Pumpkin Pi was the one that made me laugh out loud my hubbie was watching the football and I made him jump, he thought I gone mad, well madder!
Suz
Ok, so your veggie chuckles got me going, suzsibs...
My son said he'd disown me if I skyped him any more daft veggie jokes (tch! youngsters. They just don't know how to laugh anymore!)
So, that means I have to inflict...no, I mean share them with you all ;-)

---pumpkin pi
well, i laughed. ;-)
HAHAHAHA - I did actually laugh out loud. That's - uh - eye watering...
Have a big glass of cold milk and double choc chip cookies on the house!!!
Could use a cold glass of milk and some choc chip cookies can you help?
I walked passed my fridge today and thought I heard an onion singing a bee gee's song, when I opened the door it was just a 'Chive Talking'.
Sorry I needed to get that off my chest since my neighbour told me it this morning : )
Thanks for having me, I'll call in again soon, hopefully with a better joke!
Who's in A Serious Man? must find out about it.
I've avoided not-so-happy movies and just chill out with happyising things. Sometimes I fee like real life if too thought provoking for me! lol
Currently I'm working my way through Star Trek again - the good guys always win and the Doc always cures the good guys within 45mins. Strangely enough, I rather like that idea....;-)
sx
well, even though stormy is on hiatus for the time being, i'm hanging out in her kitchen with a cup o' coffee, eagerly waiting for her return.
we watched "A Serious Man" last night and i think i need to watch it again. i really loved it as it sort of fed into and validated my inner conflict about what has been happening to my life. i struggle constantly with the notion of whether things have a more profound (read religious) explanation, or can they be neatly explained by the mere fact that sh*t happens.
it's not a happy movie, but is definitely thought provoking, and i am a coen brothers nut, so it worked for me.
No I have not..I will check it out....
I agree music is amazing...Music always makes me happy.....I listen to all different kinds...
Right now I am on a Rev Horton Heat kick........I loves me some rockabilly........
Have you seen the Josh Turner's video of the flash mob dance done at the Opry Mills Mall in Nashville on youtube? It's cool. You know music is one of the greatest creations ever, it can take anger and sadness and turn it into happiness and joy.
Well we have to post more on it so that it stays at the top.... :-)
I saw "Crazyheart" and I loved it..Great music!!!!
Ok, here in the UK we've been subject to a very lacklustre General Election campaign for the last few weeks. We'll be put out of misery this Friday when it's all over...
The most 'exciting' news of the campaign was when the prime minister was caught saying that a member of the public who'd ranted at him was 'a sort of a bigot'.
My dentist mate sent me this yesterday:
Q: WHAT'S BLACK AND WORKS?
A: Gordon Brown's microphone.
Q: WHAT'S GOLD AND DOESN'T WORK?
A: Gordon Brown's front door key next week.
LOL+++
I would yes, even though I usually do go traveling through the pages, :) and don't just stop on page 1 of alll of the posts, I do not always locate those threads I have become most interested in.
Yes, that sounds like a great idea. What do others think? Would you drop by more often if Stormy's Kitchen were easier to see?
I really think this should be pinned at the top so it doesn't get sent out of site, out of mind it's a great place for all of us to find recipes, etc. Needs to stay on the first page.
Remove from heat and pout...I can do that! It's the pouring bit that has me beat....
LOL.
Did anybody notice my typo in my Florida Fantasy Fudge Recipe above?
Remove from heat and pout, (when you look at it, kind of funny, especially with the "beating constantly" right after it)
Kind of hope it brought a chuckle to you all. It did me when I re-read after I posted.
Anyways it should have read "Remove from heat and pour, in fine stream into egg white mixture, beating constantly, then add 2 cups coconut, and optional chopped nuts (walnuts, pecans, or peanuts I've used these with it) then drop by spoonfuls on to waxed paper, or spread evenly into greased oblong cake pan, let cool, (cut into squares if you used cake pan)
thanks, theresa~
i love sam rockwell--especially in "box of moonlight". my friend was in NYC a few years back and saw him on the street so she snapped a photo of him for me. :-)
i will add "moon" to the queue ASAP!
thanks for the tip!
Binx this is one for you....I know you and I love these types of films.....
I watched "Moon" with Sam Rockwell..I just love him....
It was fantastic..Had a Solaris(1972 version) vibe to it....My husband and I were still thinking and talking about it the next day.....
Here's a recipe my grandmother found in a Better Homes & Garden Magazine year's ago BTW I've given it the title of --
Florida Fantasy Fudge (Lime Candy seemed a bit mundane)
Directions:
Stiffly beat 2 egg whites with 2 boxes lime jell-o set aside.
Place in saucepan over low heat 2 cups sugar, 3/4 cup light corn syrup, 3/4 cup water.
Stir until sugar is dissolved, then cook without stirring until mixture reaches 255 degrees (a little dropped in cold water forms a hard ball)
Remove from heat and pout, beating constantly, in a fine stream into the egg white jello mixture, add 2 cups coconut then either drop by spoonfuls onto wax paper or spread out in 9x12 cake pan evenly and cut into squares, let cool.
Then Enjoy!
Suzie :)
Hi-
I watched the movie "Lovely Bones"...I loved it..There is a book too which I read and loved..but the movie, I thought, was great!!!
Jibs
i generally don't find jim carrey appealing--he sort of unnerves me.
BUT
he was fantastic in "eternal sunshine of a spotless mind." i have watched that more than a few times and loved it. i guess i appreciate him in serious roles. maybe i should give "philip morris" a try.
binx
That sounds like my kind of movie...I like Carrey too....I was watching re -reuns of "In LIving Color"...That show was hilarious.....His female bodybuilder character is genius...
We watched "The Fourth Kind"... It was pretty interesting and intellegent...
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1045772/
Apparently, my son was surprised because Jim C doesn't play a comedy role. He was very surprised at how good an actor he is.
(is it me or have we just been infested by little red triangles and a 'report' link? Did I not see these before? ;-? )
