being brushed off

Has anyone else had the experience with drs where it seems that unless you come in completely paralized or with really bad optic neuritis (or insert other major crippling symptom here) that they don't take you seriously?  I feel that pretty much every dr I've seen, except for one has treated me this way.  They won't let me tell them my whole sx history (how can they help diagnose me or find out what's wrong if they won't even listen to the complete history).  I feel like I'm stuck in limbo land, not because what ever is happening to me is complicated but that all these drs I've seen haven't been doing their job properly.  :/ Does any one else feel like this too?  I'm going to keep trucking along and see how ever many drs it takes to finally figure out what is wrong with me.  Next week I'm seeing ANOTHER neuro and the week after that I'm seeing ANOTHER nuerosurgeon :/

Hey iambus.
I fully understand your frustration.
My frustration with the  dysfunctional medical system ended the day I decided to take
my  health matters  in my own hands. What a relief !!
Today, not only do I enjoy the best health possible, but I'm able to facilitate health improvement for so many individuals through all the knowledge training and  experience I have acquired over the years.

But this post is about your situation and not about myself.
It is very suspect that you have infections or co-infections that are impossible to detect
by most blood tests performed by various labs.
As I have mentioned before, if this is  indeed the case, only an experienced LLMD
and expert on Pathogenic Mycoplasma infections can help you with this.
Otherwise, you might  find that you are going from neuro to neuro and from
test to test and at the end of the day THEY DO NOT WANT TO SEE YOU ANYMORE!
They take a look in your medical history and assume you are some kind of a Hypochondriac or a compulsive complainer. I'm not saying that all specialists are like this, but the fact remains that they are not knowledgeable in the area of such infections!
Please refer to my reply to  you  August 1st  in the fibro community.
Your health can be improved, however, your energy has to shift towards healing and not
towards dealing with your health issues with your doctors and such. That just adds more fuel to the fire, more stress in your life. And you don't need that!

Let me know if you need more info, but my suggestion is to do whatever it takes to rule out Lyme Disease and/or Pathogenic Mycoplasma infections-if you have not done so yet.
On another note:
Eliminating gluten and all sugars (including artificial sugars) and  drastically limiting the amount of carbohydrates  in your diet will probably lessen the severity of your symptoms.
Take care.
Blessings,
Nikodicreta

I am sorry that this is happening to you!  I had a similiar experience when I first went to the doctor with problems with my right lower extremity.  It's not that they didn't believe me or didn't take me seriously, it's just that every one of them would test me and when the test came back negative they would say, I think this is a neurological problem, or I think this is an orthopedic problem so I will refer you to them.  All the while, no one was letting my PCP know what was going on so no one was there to put all the pieces together, you know.

I was finally refered to a neuro who said I have a neurological problem, but that was it.  He sent me back to my PCP telling her the same.  He's an idiot and my PCP thought the same.  She was like "good to know you have a neurological problem!  That's why I sent you to him."  She seems to think that she can't treat a neurological problem and this is where I have gotten into trouble with symptom management.  Neuro wants PCP to treat me and PCP wants neuro to treat me.

Anyways, I can understand your frustration!  Even if they DO believe you, they seem to put all their eggs into one basket, so to speak.  They seem to run all the tests for one disease and when that comes back inconclusive or negative, that's it.  No other ideas or tests.

Good luck with the new neuro!  I hope this one is a keeper!  And good for you for having the "fight" in you to keep trucking!  I have been losing that more and more over the last few months. ;-)
Take care,
Sarah
