NGU? Frequency urinating, morning discharge

Had intercourse two weeks ago, unprotected, she's clean, but we had anal sex.

Frequency urinating 5-7 days later, clear/white-ish discharge in the mornings. Went to a urologist.

Urine, negative, culture, negative, STD's negative. Clean bill of "laboratory" health.

Gave me Cipro and said "non specific urethritis". Had an adverse (non-allergic) reaction to the Cipro, so he said "it happens" and gave me Keflex.

1) No STDs, culture clear, urine fine - is it bacteria from the intercourse/anal sex?
2) Should I just take the Keflex?

I would think that yes, it would have shown up in the urine culture. Can you give your Dr a call to see if they did indeed check for this type of bacteria?

One more question - if I had contracted bacteria from the sexual intercourse, wouldn't that bacteria have showed up in the urine test/culture? I.e. e.coli would have shown up?

I guess non-specific urethritis is non-specific for a reason...

Yeah, they did a culture and it can back negative for chlamydia, gonorrhea... I guess I'll try the keflex...

Yes, it could be bacteria from anal sex. You really should use a condom when doing that. Give the other antibiotic a try. If you don't do well on that one either call your Dr because there are many to choose from. Maybe you should ask your Dr to do a bacterial culture to make sure this is what's going on.
