Pain during intercourse

Hi, I have always had problems with pain during sex. The size of my partner influences the pain a little bit, as does the position.

I am in a monogamous relationship (over a year now) and this causes problems in our relationship. He is abnormally large (8 inches or so) and we don't have sex very often because of the pain it causes me.

I've been to a gynaecologist, and my GP about this, and they both just suggest we use more lubricant, different condoms, different positions, etc. We've done all that, and at this point use lubricant and no condoms (I am on birth control) we have both been testing for STIs, and came back clean.

I know he hits my cervix, which just feels weird, it doesn't hurt so much. Is that because my vaginal canal is too short for him?

The real problem is the pain about 1" inside. It feels like there is a ridge almost, that he rubs against and that hurts. Afterwards when I urinate it burns, I've bled a tiny, tiny bit once or twice but I didn't bleed my first time. it feels like there are tiny tears, I am slightly swollen and red after sex, like in a bad way.

A nurse once suggested that the problem was with my hymen, but none of the doctors have said anything about it during exams. Is it possible that my hymen hasn't torn for some reason? We've tried alot of different positions and some hurt less than others, doggy style (for lack of a better term) seems to hurt the least.

Any other suggestions on why I'm in pain? If it is my hymen, is there something I can do about it?

i just read on a website that the swelling and tearing with pain during urination after sex could be as a result of the follacular phase of the menstration cycle.

In the last day or two, i have also notice that i have a mild yeast infection (which i concluded from the itch after sex and and the little cottage cheese like odourless discharge). The yeast infection is also often affiliated with this phase due to high oestrogen levels etc which in turn causes the symptoms discussed above.

The feeling of hitting against a rigde comes with the lowered postion of the cervix at this stage. i hav cut an pasted the symtoms caused by the viginal yeast infection below

*Vaginal itching that is often severe.
*Vaginal discharge that is usually white, curdlike, and odorless.
*Red, irritated skin around the opening to the vagina (labia).
*Pain while urinating when urine touches irritated skin.
*Pain in the vagina during sexual intercourse

Familiar???

do not despare tho cause yeast infections are normal and normally dissappear after a while. if persistant though, it would be wise to see a doctor for prescribed medication.

hi ladies!!
ive had 2 kids and i still am having pain during sex!  it feels like my fiance is hitting something inside. but it hurts my stomach. its weird. i find that it really does depend on the length of the penis. with my ex-boyfriend i had no pain at all in any position. but with my fiance' its sooo uncomfortable. his penis is over 9 inches long (no joke) and we can basically only do the missionary position without it hurting. ive asked my doctors and they cant find anything wrong. ive had this problem since i first started having sex... and i dont think its ever gonna go away. no amount of lube or changinig condoms is gonna fix it.
