Sex and exercise

Heard many times from men going to the gym that one should not indulge in sex on the same as going to gym and exercising and to take off from exercise one day if one is having sex. Curious to know how much true is that. If that is true, then should one abstain totally from exercise or can do some light exercise?

I haven't noticed any truth to that exercise/ abstention theory.
The man that I'm seeing is in his early 50s; is a letter carrier; and, works out
every day in his home gym. His day-to-day physical activity doesn't seem to
take the edge off of his sex drive, which, in my opinion, is pretty intense.

I have never heard about this, but if it is true, then it is just one more reason for me why I abstain from going to gym:) I have never been into going to gym and now I have just one more reason for keeping my aversion to gym.
