Swollen clitoris and / or labia after masturbation

Hi, I'm a female in my 30's. Almost a week after I've masturbated, my clitoris and / or labia kinda feels swollen or sore - it's not really that painful but it's uncomfortable specially when I walk. Never had sex in my entire life and I masturbate sometimes but this never happened to me - just now. It's really uncomfortable walking and I try not to walk like a penguin, it just feels weird down there. Should I see a doctor? Thanks!

Whatever happened? How long did it take to go away?

Normally it will go away on its own pretty quickly, like within several hours. Take ibuprofen.  Try an ice pack.   May still be a little sore after the swelling goes down though.  If it lasts for longer than a day, I'd go to the doctor.  People can have skin bacteria called cellulitis that requires antibiotics.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
These can be due to friction rub or chafing. If there are raised bruise like plaques then lichen planus should be ruled out. Application of mild corticosteroid cream and oral antiinflammatories like ibuprofen/acetaminophen are also helpful. Also avoid masturbating and intercourse till there is complete healing. If the symptoms are severe then it will be best to consult a dermatologist.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
