Zero precum

My sex life has lost a lot of enjoyment since the apparent failure of my bulbourethral or cowpers gland to function. I had heart surgery to replace an aortic valve in May 2015 and of course had a catheter inserted for the operation. Since this time I have not had any precum in my sexual activity. Could the cause have been the catheterisation for the operation or the severe constipation I experienced during recovery? The cessation was sudden and do not believe it is age related, I am 72. All other sex functions are normal.
Is this Bulbourethral gland apparent failure reversible?
