You really do need to see a doctor. Fishy odor usually goes with bacterial vaginosis, not a yeast infection, and yeast infections usually have the cottage cheese discharge. Burning could be from a UTI, but it could also just be from the skin being irritated (urine is somewhat caustic, and will burn when it comes in contact with broken skin). If it is BV, yogurt won't help you (and it's not a good idea to insert it in the vagina). The theory behind using yogurt with yeast infections is that the bacteria in the yogurt will help restore the bacteria-yeast balance in the vagina, but if you have a bacterial infection, this won't help. You should not use anything scented or harsh in the area for now. I would gently cleanse it with water and then apply a thin layer of vaseline or diaper ointment to the outside after patting dry to add a protective barrier and soothe it a bit, but this won't cure it. A salt water bath (don't let the salt water get inside) might help soothe some of the itching. You can also try taking something like benedryl to help with the itching.
You won't be able to tell exactly what it is you have without seeing someone. They can look under a microscope to tell you if you have yeast or bacteria in there, and you might need antibiotics to fix it.
Hi U, If your not getting a discharge with it, or should say that you have not said anything about a discharge, so not BV, but think leans more towards a UTI, so its either the doctor for some antibiotics or drink lots of cranberry juice, and you can google uti natural treatment, if you don't want the doctors.
Good Luck
i know some one that had a case that links to this and the way they got round it was that they washed area twice a day with a soap that has no sent, eating bio yogurt is another good thing, as well as this if your sexually active try not to be for about a week or so and see if this helps.
