Discharge

My husband and I are not trying to conceive but we are not trying to not conceive, therefore we are not using any kind of birth control. My periods have always been VERY irregular until the last 3-4 months, in which they have become very regular. I was supposed to start my period on the 21st of September and it is now the 25th. For the last few days I have been experiencing cramping (feels like menstrual crams) off and on. Yesterday the 24th, I notice some clear, sticky, discharge. I went to my doctor where she tested for pregnancy and an UTI, but all test results came back negative. My last pap showed nothing abnormal (as well as no STD’s)… any suggestions?

You didn't say whether your Gyno checked for Bacterial infections or yeast. This test is just a simple panel, your doc will take a swab of the inside of your vagina and look at that sample under a microscope to check for "Clue cells" which indicate BV. If you dont have bv i would say it could either be:

1. left over semen
2. normal secretions when your cycle is off balance
3. A reaction to soaps/body cleansers
4. A change in your body chemistry (happens as you age)

Does the discharge have an odor?
