Hello.

First, no one can tell either you or your boyfriend what's going on without a complete examination. I urge you to see your gynecologist ASAP to determine whether you have an infection, and your boyfriend should see a urologist for the same reason.

There are many factors that can contribute to pain--both physiological and psychological. Some possibilities are: infections, irritations due to lotions or soaps, and not enough lubrication.

Please don't be so naive as to think that just because you've been tested for STDs, you or your boyfriend haven't developed one. It's entirely possible, so do see your doc to find out what's going on. Dr. J.
