a new mole

Hi i have recently developed a red spot  in the last month on my thigh. It started out as a tiny little dot that looked like it could have been an ingrown hair, but now looks like a red mole it has doubled in size since i first saw it. It is more of a light red pink lkight brown  in  colour and doesnt have a definite edge more of a blur. It is also a little raised only enough to feel it when running a finger over it. Is this something i should be visiting by gp for

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
It can be a small cyst or benign growth of skin. However keep an eye on it. If you notice changes in it’s color, height, size or shape, you should have a dermatologist evaluate it. You also should have it checked if it bleeds, oozes, itches, appear scaly, or become tender or painful.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

Sometimes taking a photo to compare your red spot from one month to the next is handy, too .. takes some of the guesswork out of it's change.  But if it changes dramatically in between definitely see your doc I'd suggest.

Hi
Thanks for that it has gotten bigger spreeding across my skin the shape is hard to tell weather it has changed as it has always been uneven, but does not itch, ooze or look scaly nor is it painful, Its just a red bump that is spreading across my skin. Thanks for all the advice you have given me i will defiantly be getting it checked
